Why was God displeased with the Israel? Paul tells us that the thing that displeased God was their evil craving or desire. Where is you heart set?

Should a person receive a wage for preaching the Gospel? The wage produces hope for the plower and the thresher.

Paul lists his rights as an apostle. He has the right to eat and drink. He has the right to have a believing wife travel with him. He has the right to being paid for what he does and not have to work at another job.

If we cause a brother to stumble we sin. We ruin a brother who Christ died for. We have sinned against the brother and wound them.

Their are people that have used idols and their conscious is weak. We must be careful to not cause them to stumble.

There is only one God and that is the Father. There is only one lord and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Nobody else can do what God the Father does. There are things that people worship like a god but they are not God. There are things people serve like a lord but they are not Lord.

Paul is talking about knowledge. Knowledge was very important to the Corinthians. This is the type of knowledge that comes by experience. Some Corinthians had a knowledge of meat offered to idols. God has a knowledge of us.

Paul begins to teach on food offered as sacrifices to idols. The foundation he lays is knowledge makes a person arrogant but love edifies and builds up people.

Fathers, if it is right, let you daughters marry. If not, do not let them marry. Widows you are free to marry again but Paul advises against it.

Paul is telling us that those who are married have to be concerned with their spouse but those who are single only have their relationship with God to be concerned with. He is not saying that those who are married are less effective than those who are single. Married people have more to think about. That is appropriate but the thing we should desire is devoted attention to Jesus

Paul tells us that because of the shortness of time we should live a life that is totally abandoned to Jesus. This world is in the process of passing way. Live for the things that really matter.

Paul gives us a word of wisdom. This wisdom comes from his faithfulness to the Lord. It comes from the mercy of the Lord. Paul's wisdom is give for those in distress.

When God called you to salvation were you a slave? Then do everything you can to pay the debt. If you were free? Then be a slave to Christ because He has paid our debt.

What condition were you in when God called you to salvation. Were you Jewish or Gentile. The important thing is that you are obeying God's commands for you.

What do we do if an unbeliever leaves? The believer is free, what does that mean? What condition has God assigned to you? Marriage or single?

We look at Paul's instructions to married people. Especially to those who have unbelieving spouses.

Paul address those who are single. He calls being single good. We need to change our perception of singleness

Paul teaches that some are meant to not marry. Paul was single and wanted believers to be as himself if they could.

Authority is given to your husband or wife over your body. That authority is given so you can serve them and not yourself. Sex in marriage is important to overcome immorality.

Paul teaches about marriage and sexuality. Sex between husband and wife is God's way of dealing with immorality. Husbands and wives have a duty to each other.
