How often have you said, or have heard someone around you or in your church say, Praise the Lord? How many times have you asked yourself what is the meaning of this phrase? We can often say words or phrases without appreciating the purpose and power of them. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

This weekend, Pastor Craig Groeschel of Lifechurch, preached one of the most powerful and convicting messages I've ever heard in my 70 years of life. In today's episode I'll be sharing some of the things that spoke powerfully to me.

One of my favorite promises in the Bible is Isaiah 41:10 - Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. In a world that often seems dark or difficult, we may find ourselves facing huge battles with fear and anxiety each day. In those times we must look to the I Am and His word for comfort, strength and peace.

Is it comfortable to be in the middle... squished... waiting? In today's episode, I'm going to share the middle verse of the Bible. It's got something to say to us in the middle of it all.

When my wife and I were praying last night, I was blessed and grateful for the health we both have. We pray for many friends and family members who are going through some tough challenges with health. Today I have my annual eye exam and as I was thinking about that, I expressed my gratefulness to God for being able to see, to read and to drive... but what about spiritual vision. Are you forgetful? Do you struggle with forgetfulness? We all do at times and perhaps especially as we enter our senior years. But there are other reasons for forgetfulness... like self-centeredness and selfishness. We focus on what benefits us and not others. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

During my time in the Navy in the late 60's and early 70's, it was always interesting when waiting for my next orders to the new duty station or ship. When they came, there was no going back... they were orders that must be obeyed. In today's episode I'm sharing some marching orders from 2 Timothy 4:2. Are you ready?

Some things never end right? How many times have you said; "When is it going to stop?" With all the challenges we're facing, it's comforting to me to know that what's important about God and His faithfulness, also never stops. Lamentations 3:22-23 - "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

I love the story of Jesus stilling the storm on the Sea of Galilee. I love the part of the story that while the storm was raging, Jesus was napping. Do you ever struggle thinking that Jesus might be sleeping on the job... that he's clueless as to what's happening around Him? Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

Promises are important right? But the promises of God are amazing. 2 Peter 2:4 tells us that God has given us "exceeding great and precious promises." One of God's promises that is encouraging me today is the one found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Psalm 86:12 says; "With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever." Halfheartedness in any area of life is not good and especially in our walk with God. In today's episode as we close out a week, I'm going to read over you Psalm 86. Have a blessed weekend!

Do you ever feel empty? When we're feeling empty our likely move is to try to fill that emptiness. All of us are sometimes tempted to substitute our relationship with God for counterfeit containers, like relationships, pleasure, knowledge, or status. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

No voice is as powerful, encouraging and full of wisdom than the voice of the Lord. Are you listening? Are you in His Word each day? There are a lot of loud and boisterous voices in our world today. Don't let them drown out the voice of the Lord.
