Morning Manna

Have you felt or said; "I've had enough." I know I have and that you have as well. Listen to what the powerful prophet Elijah said... 1 Kings 19:4: “But Elijah went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, ‘It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!'” Let's talk about this on today's Morning Manna.

The nation of Judah was being attacked by four armies in 2 Chronicles 20. It's a powerful story and encourage you to read it. In verse 4 we read this... “So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.” What do you and I need to seek the Lord for today? Joshua 13:1says this... “Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the LORD said to him: ‘You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.’” I tell people there is no such thing as retirement... you always have to have purpose. Proverbs 24:16 says this... “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.” We all fall but we can rise again. Let's talk about the rise on today's Morning Manna.

Have you ever had some one wash your feet? Have you ever washed someone else's feet? Let's talk about in on today's Morning Manna. John 13:14–16: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.”

As we wrap up our week on Morning Manna, enjoy a reading of Psalm 63. "O God, You are my God; early will I seek You..."

I can only imagine how challenging it was for Elisha to take on the mantle and ministry of Elijah but he did. 2 Kings 2:14: “Then Elisha took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, ‘Where is the LORD God of Elijah?’ And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.” May God help to today to take on that mantle of ministry and service.

I love this promise from Jesus in Luke 11:9–10: “And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

How peaceful are you today? Do you need peace? Jesus said this in John 16:33 - “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

We... have... overcome! That's the truth of 1 John 5:4–5 - “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

As we wrap up the week, enjoy a reading of Psalm 62 today. My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.

Thank God for the grace and peace He has given to us. Let's take that incredible gift and give it to others today! Galatians 1:3: “Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,”

2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” Let's share that treasure to others today!

How will we glorify our God today? Think about it... and look for those opportunties. Make that your mission today! 1 Corinthians 6:19–20: “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Here's our mission today... 2 Corinthians 1:3–4: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Take the comfort God has given you and pass it on to someone else today.

Enjoy a reading of Psalm 57 today. Whatever you're facing... whatever the struggle is... this Psalm will bring encouragment and comfort to you. "Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by." (verse 1)

One of the battles we face every day is in our mind. 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 says this; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

We know about God's "Amazing" grace, but today let's talk about His sufficient grace. 2 Corinthians 12:9: “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Isaiah 46:4: “Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.” Growing older is certainly full of challenges but also full of opportunties and blessings. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.
