  • A Conversation with Leila Way About Her New Album

    10/10/2023 Duration: 43min

Fr. Shawn McCain Tirres and Ryan Flanigan sit down with Leila to discuss the making of her new album. We're excited to announce the upcoming release of a new album by our musician-in-residence at Resurrection, Leila Way. We are so proud of Leila and so grateful that the Ways are part of our parish community. You can find out more about Leila's music at https://www.leilaway.com/. You Don't Carry It Alone, is a collection of songs for hard times. Some of these are old hymns; some were written during a period of intense grief and loneliness, while others grew out of prayers for friends. The album was created to comfort those who mourn; to remind God's people that He is always faithful, always present and at work, even when we can't see what He's up to. The album is released on all streaming platforms. 05/10/2023 Duration: 01h09min

Fr. Shawn McCain Tieres follows up with Dr. Erik Eklund and Tashara Angelle on the course they taught about reading the bible. Have you ever read the Bible and thought, "I have no idea what this is talking about?" Well, you're not alone. The Scriptures are a beautiful, historic, living, and complex collection of ancient texts. As Christians we believe that the Bible is the authoritative witness to the Word of God, Jesus Christ, given for us to "hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them" (as the famous prayer goes). How do we do those things? How do we discern what the Bible means and how it illuminates our lives? If you've missed a class or are looking for its resources, go check out our adult formation page. Also, we're recording a follow-up podcast episode every week which you can find on Spotify, Apple, or watch on Youtube. Be sure to like and subscribe!
