The first final of the IBSA World Blind Games 2023 was won on Tuesday evening (21 August 2023) with Argentina winning the Women’s Blind Football Championships with a very close thought game  against Japan.   Our Toby Davey joined in the celebrations on the pitch grabbing a few words with Santiago Jugo, Coach of the Argentinian Team. Well now is your chance as at the IBSA World Blind Games 2023 taking place in Birmingham and the West Midlands through the British Blind Sport Activation Zone you can try your hand at Blind cricket, Blind Tennis, Blind Football, Goalball and Showdown to mention just a few.  Our Toby Davey decided to have a go at Blind Cricket both bowling and batting with some success as he did manage to hit the ball once or twice with the bat! The IBSA World Blind Games Goalball competition got underway on Sunday August 20th.  Hywel Davies spoke to Australian player Raissa Martin and team manager Simon Smith following their encounter with Team GB.

Team GB Women’s Goalball Manager Aaron Ford spoke to Hywel Davies about  the side’s victory over Australia and the impact he hopes the IBSA Games can have on the sport in the UK.

The GB Women’s Goalball team got off to a winning start at the IBSA World Games, with a victory over Australia. Hywel Davies was on hand to speak to Georgie Bullen after the game.
