Trump "kicks Off" the 2020 campaign he has been running since 2016 and shows it will be more of the same: resentment and aggrievement (not just of white people but, mostly, of him!). Meanwhile, Democrats in NY demonstrate what governing on behalf of the people is all about. The choice of political parties and the future of this country could not be more stark...except to the 40% who support Trump. He declares it to hide his illegal efforts to suppress minority (real ones) representation by adding a citizenship question to the census. All to advance the Republican efforts to ensure continued minority (wealthy white ones) rule in the US. He also furthers his war on climate change...information. Mostly though, he publicly seeks to collude with hostile foreign powers to steal the 2020 election. ("Yes collusion, Yes obstruction!") The need to impeach grows ever more critical. Also, was it right for the US women's World Cup soccer team to run up the score and humiliate its opponent? The nature of sportsmanship, and to what extent does our lack of respect for fair play in our sporting events lead to the cheating society we have? Trump has hissy fit: says he won't do his job because Speaker Pelosi accused him of a cover-up. No, seriously. A look at some of the latest examples of "the best people" he has brought into our government, including the continuing assault on our environment and the latest efforts to seek the help of foreign powers in the coming presidential election. THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS This Week’s Discussion: Alabama passes the most rigid anti-abortion law in the country. Republicans present the Supreme Court with an opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade, and their voters with more motivation to get out to vote in 2020. Their opportunity to continue to elect leaders who will fill our courts with right-wing judges that will impose their extremist religious views on people much better and brighter than themselves better give the rest of us the same motivation. Trump's newly-announced immigration policy is all about reinforcing privilege; what a surprise! Finally, whatever type of war you prefer, the Trump has something especially for you! We escalate our existing trade and cold wars and really seem to be manipulating our way into a hot war with Iran. Is this the moment we have been fearing since trump took over? The confirmation hearings for Attorney General designed William Barr, and why haven't a tyrant-enabler at US chief law enforcement officer may not be such a good idea with a tyrant-wannabee President. The latest bombshells on Trump's collusion with Russia, and the fact that we are having to ask ourselves if, or maybe to what extent, the President of the United States is an agent of a hostile foreign power.  What should be done as the evidence continues to mount that the President is a criminal, that he assumed power through criminal behavior, and that he is not seeking to promote the interest
