 As the final chapters of Exodus emphasize sacrifices, the priesthood, and God's dwelling with Israel, we see that each of these are shadows that find their permanence and greatest fulfillment in Christ.Passage: Exodus 35-40

After experiencing the presence of God and the confirmation of the covenant, Israel backslides into idolatry. Learning from Israel, each of us must identify and uproot our idols because idolatry is tempting, easy, foolish and deadly.Passage:  Exodus 32:1-33:6

As the Mosaic covenant with Israel and God is ratified in blood, we are reminded of the reliability of God's promises, as well as the terms and takeaways of the covenant.Passage: Exodus 24

In the Great Exodus, God's salvation power is revealed to Israel and modeled for us as he sets Israel free from bondage, sets them free by grace, and sets them free through a mediator.Text: Exodus 14

As the last plague befalls Egypt, death visits all in Israel and Egypt—and eventually us as well. God in his mercy offered provision for Israel through the blood of the Passover Lamb, paving the way for God in his mercy to offer Jesus as the once-for-all Passover Lamb for us.Scripture Passage: Exodus 11-12

Responding to the doubts and questions as to who He is, the finger of God brings the first nine plagues upon Pharaoh which reveal power, remove doubt, release judgment, and prove He is deserving of glory—all while showing Pharaoh and us that only God has true authority.

Moses' experienced tremendous fear, frailty, and failure as he pursued the call of God. His circumstances led to doubt and led him to question the character of God. When we experience the same feelings of weakness, our God meets us with unending faithfulness just as he did with Moses.

We so often worry about who we are? What is my identity? Have we stopped to consider God's identity? This is vastly more important than our own identity. Come and explore the self-defining God who is sovereign, but committed...separate, but close...good, but just!

Just as the Hebrews felt forgotten and left behind by God during their period of slavery in Egypt, many of us can feel that God is distant during times of waiting and suffering. Together we see a reminder from Exodus that God is providentially working out His plan even when we don't see Him.

Christmas is often thought of as about joy, peace, love, and happiness. Indeed, it is those things, but it is also more. Come explore the hymn O Holy Night and find out about some unusual Christmas themes like submission, longing, and social disruption.

All too often, we think Christmas begins with Jesus in a manger in the gospels. However, join us as we examine the clues that God gave throughout the OT about the coming of His greatest gift, Jesus Christ, in preparation for the first Christmas.

Few things in life are more beautiful or difficult than friendship.
