Amanda Alexiuc of Living Room of Satoshi on Crypto Clothesline Podcast
08/02/2019 Duration: 41minThis interview with Amanda Alexiuc from Living Room of Satoshi (LROS) was long anticipated and still gives us warm fuzzies. Not just because Amanda is our friend but because the Living Room of Satoshi was our first paid sponsor when we were so small, even our family had to be reminded about that podcast thing we were doing. The Living Room of Satoshi took a leap and trusted we knew a little bit about what we were doing and jumped in with us. For this we are forever grateful. Amanda reminded us that the first moment we dip our toes into crypto waters can be daunting, overwhelming and can often lead to a lifetime of learning: such a raw and volatile new space. “I'm still a newbie,” she said. “I've only been doing this for 12 months, so there is so much to learn, but I think it's an evolving space. So it was kind of in a continual learning environment at the same time.”Something most of us can agree on is the sheer awesomeness of LROS and what it has done for crypto in Australia. With a brand ne

25/01/2019 Duration: 41minA Human Blockchain Bridge Between Theory And PracticeNavroop is a dynamic and positive force in blockchain technology, and possibly even more importantly, in seeing our present unfolding into the future, she’s effecting change also through emerging technology in its various manifestations, layered over a fundamental foundation of blockchain. She's in a fairly unique position, being representative of both the fields of academia, where blockchain technology is being researched and developed, and as an industry professional actually building out these blockchain platforms in business. It’s the discovery at this grass-roots level of the day-to-day challenges, which then effectively dictates further studies of what’s needed on the ground and how best to develop the tech to meet those needs. While being far from optimal, with only 5-6% of people in the blockchain industry being women currently, Navroop is optimistic about encouraging more to join in. Apart from ignoring those occasional heavy-handed keyboard wa

14/12/2018 Duration: 44minThis week we interview Lucas Cullen, often referred to as ‘Brisbane’s Bitcoin Grandpa’. One journey however, (and one that the Brisbane crypto community are glad Lucas embarked on) was the founding of the Brisbane Bitcoin and Blockchain meetup which is now home to over 1700 members including the Crypto Clothesline Podcast. It did take us three attempts to tie this man down but it was a pleasure to finally chat with him about his life, observations, thoughts and predictions on the future of crypto and blockchain. And I think Ross is of a similar mindset there. As someone who's been in federal prison myself, I saw exactly how these people get treated but somewhere between 70 and 80 percent of the people were there for victimless crimes, which for

Our conversation deepens almost immediately when we ask about the emotional, financial, psychological and mental impact on her life.“Mental. Yes, absolutely. You're right. I mean literally I almost died, my heart just gave out because I was so stressed. Well they said it was this thing called broken heart syndrome, which affects the left ventricle of your heart. It was after the trial and the sentencing and I mean, my heart gave out. I'm okay now, but yeah, it's, you know, it's like seeing your child killed in front of you, murdered in front of you.”Ver speaks not only on the thoughts behind the extreme sentencing but also his thoughts on the hypocrisy of the state:“And from my point of view, if there's no victim, t

Lyn’s heartbreaking and tragic journey with her son began when Ross was convicted of seven charges and a double life sentence plus 40 years condemning Ross to die behind bars. We chat to Lyn about the site created by her son – ‘Silk Road’ once found on the dark web (and which is no longer online).
