  • Blue Lives F'n Matter 228 Suicides in 2019

    06/03/2020 Duration: 33min

In May 2016, Louisiana became the first state to propose a “Blue Lives Matter” law, which amended hate crime provisions to include targeting an individual “because of actual or perceived employment as a law enforcement officer or firefighter.” Since then, dozens of bills in states across the nation have been proposed to follow Louisiana’s lead. The reaction to the new legislative agenda was immediate. It can be especially challenging for younger veterans who went from home to military life than back to civilian life as an adult. This culture shock can be difficult to handle. Add to these physical and psychological injuries and civilian life can quickly become overwhelming. This guide is designed to give the veteran's
