We'll Just Tell Your Mother We Ate It All

40 Days and 40 Nights is an odd movie. There's a scene where someone busts from a flower, the web design stuff seems hilariously out of date and Josh Hartnett has as much charisma as a used condom. So of course we spend an extra long time on the preamble coming up with woke takes, and discussing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

It's 4/20 somewhere man. We talk about Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, its inspired use of cameos, taking dumps in public and a lot of talk about burgers. Also if you're a Kings of Leon fan be prepared to be infuriated as we take stabs at names of albums with little to no regard if they're correct or not.

For such a terrible movie two thirds of us quite enjoyed Whatever it Takes. James Franco plays a dummy so well. Gentle Charles is back cos he was hanging around and we thought it would be weird to just sit him on the couch and leave him to his own devices. So we let him finish his wine and talk some more.

Yeah the Smiths, writing on a typewriter, Kerouac, being weird around the cutest girl in school, these are all the marks of the coolest most interesting dude in his 40s writing for a high school character. Gentle Charles joins us to discuss Albert Speer, why this movie is or isn't as bad as we thought and being various degrees of sad bois/girlz

We talk about the Breakfast Club but more importantly talk about the leadership spill and the Dumpster Fire that is politics in 2018. Politicians are cancelled and we have all the funniest and most correct takes on them. We also talk about getting it sucked.

Alex Jae joins us in studio to talk about BASEketball, which we all know isn't a teen sex comedy but the premise of this podcast is flimsy as hell and you all know it. Just wait til we actually do Venom for no reason. Anyway Andy gets a text during this that rattles him, we destroy the patriarchy from within or strengthen it and Alex tells us all about her history with the movie.

This was actually part of our original plan, to rank the movies every so often. It's not because we are lazy and didn't watch a movie, we planned it. We did. Anyway we talk about the movies we've seen and why Venom and Eminem is the chocolate and peanut butter of 2018.

We finally get around to talking about American Pie and guess what? When you have genuine enthusiasm for the movie you end up talking about it quite a bit! So there's less of Hastings sex life in-- ah who am I kidding we still take a bunch of wild tangents.

I guess this move was supposed to be feminist and helpful to young queer people in the 80s. It sure doesn't seem it now but man it's unintentionally funny. So put on your hottest Elvis Costello outfit and listen to us plumb the depths of Andy's spiralling mental health some more.

Andy isn't doing so good. He wants to do crack, and he has a new furniture setup just for drugs. But the movie is good, a rare treat for a movie none of us knew about.

Emma Zammit is one of our favourite comedians and now she has joined the esteemed group of We'll Just Tell Your Mother We Ate it All guests. I moved house recently so I'm editing the podcast much later than I usually do. Literally as I type this, so I can't remember what happens in it, but we had a good time doing the pod and I'm sure it rules hard.

Ben Kochan joins us for this instalment. In a perfectly fitting move for him, he picks a 'teen sex comedy' that is PG rated and revolves around having a nice romantic smooch. We talk about our own romantic smooches, having relations with a mango and the creepy writing behind the cool teacher.

She's All That is fine. It's a nothing movie. They're the hardest ones to talk about. But then Hastings talks about his journey with transgender porn and all of a sudden you have a classic episode.

Animal House still holds up. Yeah there's some dicey jokes about things here and there but it is mostly a charming and funny movie. We also talk about growing up as Simpsons quoting nerdlingers, which SNL Cast Member we'd most like to party with and a plan forms for the Official We'll Just Tell Your Mother We Ate it All Toga Party

This was a fun one. Comedian Bec Charlwood joins us to get drunk on tequilla and yell over each other about all sorts of stuff. We talk about Easy A, Emma Stone, inspirational teachers and all kinds of other stuff. It's funny.

The Rise of Taj is like a crappy Animal House that still copies the plot of the first Van Wilder, there's even a set piece involving dog semen. So instead we spend a lot of time talking about Brokencyde, guess which one of us was a legitimate fan.

This is a good episode. The others are too but this one was one of our favourites to record. Tom Walker joined us to mostly make fun of Andy's disgusting apartment, Andy's skills at comedy and Andy's seduction technique. Van Wilder was the movie I guess and we all liked it and had some hot film insights about it but yeah we really gave it to Andy this time.

Part 2 of our sex robot double feature. Don't worry, this one is way less creepy and mostly just goofy. You do have to take in to account 1980s politics and John Hughes weird views of non white people and it's quite a charming little tale. We talk about open mic comedy (sorry Alfie, overlord of Dirty Thunder Radio), Robert Downey Maron Jr and revel in what a subdued Andy sounds like. It seriously damages his self proclaimed status as the breakout star of the show.

Oh my lord where to start with this movie. We guessed it would be terrible, but we had no idea that in 2016 a movie like this could exist. The main characters are so disgusting, and seem to hate women so much, they're basically impossible to like. They seem to have no idea what consent is and you're supposed to root for them.
