Back from a week off the tools, the boys finally get to discuss the incredible comeback of the Nuggets on the Clippers, argue intensely over the quality of Celtics/Raptors and decide whether microball should just be another passing fad.

Jamal Murray is going where no man has gone... at least since 1993 when Michael Jordan last scored 40+ in 3 straight playoff (Finals, in his case) games. Can Donovan Mitchell take the series in Game 7 though? And how do the Raptors adjust after struggling so much against the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals?

And just like that, we're left with what might only be two real series' left in the first round of the playoffs. Luka's Mavericks are testing the Clippers' mettle, while CP3 is getting awful close to knocking out his old Rockets squad. Conference semi's are up next, and they look impossible to pick.

The NBA Playoffs have officially begun! One day in, but no shortage of classic moments, Donovan Mitchell went off for 57, KP got the softest ejection of the year, and the Trail Blazers have kept their hot streak rolling!

If there's anything that we've learned from the NBA bubble so far, it's that we probably never really knew anything in the first place. This season began with arguably the most parity the league has seen in at least a decade. After months of the regular season, we would've liked to think we were getting a better idea of who would end up coming out on top. This past week has demonstrated otherwise.

As expected, teams like the Lakers & Clippers have come into the bubble ready to play. What's exciting is the perceived tier of squads below them that have also turned up firing, and potentially even more so. Do the Raptors and Rockets have anything to say about who's going to take home the chip?

This week, the NBA announced that the eight upcoming playoff seeding games will have no implications on the traditional end of season awards. Considering this means that we've seen all we need to in order to decide our very own 2020 Backdoor Cut Awardies, it's time to crown some winners.

After another spell on the sidelines, Jake, Josh & Batey are back, only in extremely unfamiliar surroundings... their homes. Forced into separation for the very first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the boys break down all things NBA bubble, and touch on the teams who weren't quite fortunate enough to get the invite.

With the NBA on hold and most of the world in lockdown due to COVID-19, Backdoor Cut was forced to take a brief hiatus. We would also like to express our regret that this episode was recorded just before the recent death of George Floyd and the ensuing Black Lives Matter protests right across the world, as we would have absolutely used this opportunity to highlight some of the phenomenal expressions of solidarity our NBA community is showing right now. A few short days ago, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and 7 other passengers including, teammates, parents, coaches and a pilot, passed away in a tragic helicopter crash. Kobe was a source of inspiration to the entire basketball community throughout his legendary career, and as we’ve come to see in the past few days, the whole world at large. We haven’t merely lost one of the game’s greats, but a cultural titan. His passing was truly shocking, and the gaping hole of a Kobe-less world has only really started to show - perhaps sadder still, a Gianna-less world, one in which she would potentially inspire the female sporting community just as her father did from the moment he announced himself to the masses. May both the Mamba, Mambacita and all those lost in this tragedy forever rest in peace.

I think in this instance, the title speaks for itself.

Refreshed from the festive season, Backdoor Cut returns with the first episode of 2020, and an argument in dire need of settling!

With a long year finally winding down to a close, we snuggled in this week to catch up personally on our respective happenings for the Holidays, as well as (of course) preview the ever-exciting 2019 NBA Christmas Schedule.
