We're pulling part of an interview we did with Ellis Lucas and make a total separate podcast with the part you are about to listen to. We've had several multiple podcast interviews before because of length, but never one like this. This is the touching story of Ellis and his parents. Unknown to us before the interview, Ellis' father had passed away just two days earlier. Today's podcast ends with an original song from Ellis called "Outside Looking In". A little about Ellis While he never envisioned becoming an author, Ellis Lucas is a natural born storyteller nonetheless. And in an age where it feels like everyone, even the most inconsequential of public figures and celebrities, feels compelled to chronicle their life’s journey in memoir form, Ellis Lucas’s The Potter and the Clay isn’t yet another ho-hum account of a few of humanity’s shared experiences. It’s a gri

  • Susie Davis, Author of Dear Daughters: Love Letters to the Next Generation

    22/07/2019 Duration: 24min

Susie says, I’m an author, encourager and mentor. I can’t get away from those things. So that means I write. Every day, I wake up and write out things in my moleskine journals. And every day, I end up somewhere on social media (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) with words hoping to encourage you to love God even more. I also write a couple times a week here on my site. You can keep up with those posts by signing up here. The other thing that I can’t seem to escape is a God-given desire to reach out to the young women around me. I call them ‘dear daughters.’ So that makes me a spiritual mama or mentor ~ whatever you want to call it. That’s me. Dear daughters are young women in search of spiritual guidance and spiritual mamas are women just a little further down the road with age-old wisdom to share. Each group has valuable insight for the other and the hope is that the reader will invite someone to come alongside them, pore over the included letters together, and pass along wisdom and advice that will make both

  • Sermon: All Sins Are Not Created Equal

    03/07/2019 Duration: 36min

Pastor Ed gives scriptural references that show that 1) all sin separates us from God and will lead to eternal damnation, 2) forgiveness of our sins is possible because Jesus went to the Cross and was resurrected and 3) not all sins are equal which the text below will show. However, the big point of the message is Pastor Ed's belief that clumping all sins together has desensitized us from knowing what sin is. Text:   John 19: 10 - 11  Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?” Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/edboston/message

  • Josh Havens From The Afters Introduces Their New Album - Fear No More

    30/05/2019 Duration: 26min

Writing and recording music written from the human experience has long been a specialty of award-winning band, The Afters. Their deep catalog of songs connects people to one another, putting words to both the answered and unanswered prayers of the heart. But when it was time to write for their new album, Fear No More, band members Josh Havens, Jordan Mohilowski, Matt Fuqua and Dan Ostebo found themselves looking inward and leaning on each other in a brand-new way. “One thing I love about our band is we’re like brothers,” Havens shares. “We really are. We’ve been through a lot together over the years and those challenges have brought us even closer and strengthened that bond. We’re able to be really honest with each other. Through everything, we’re still good friends.” For Fear No More, the members dug deep, each desiring to make an album that truly reflected the inner-most parts of their own humanity, including the parts they wouldn’t have normally chosen to expose in such a public way. They wrote this new co
