In 1992 a crew drilled into the vault of the Gota Bank in Stockholm. Inside they broke into over 600 safety deposit boxes and set off pretty much every alarm the bank had but somehow they still got away with $6.7 million. So many great takeaways from this story. It's a story we've been dying to tell but couldn't seem to find and English articles about it. And that's when our amazing listener Pontus stood up and volunteered to research this bad boy for us. Today we cover one of the biggest car theft rings in US history. Ring leader Minjiang Yang ran a crew that stole $40 million in luxury cars in NYC and then had them shipped to China for a serious profit (double the ticket price.) Yang ruled his crew with an iron fist, and he was crazy careful with every step of the process...until he wasn't.     HEEISST! 

Today we tell the story of Jordan Goudreau, a real wild boy who decided to single handedly take over Venezuela to get at those sweet, sweet oil reserves. And guess what, turns out heisting an entire nation ain't that easy. HEEEIST!

Back in the late 1800s four men conned the Bank of England, "The safest bank in the world" at the time, out of ten million dollars. All it took was the charm of a handsome rascal, a skilled forger and mastermind in bank fraud. And they would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for a single piece of blotting paper. HEEEIST!

Arther Welleslley was a british retiree living on a very meager pension. What really got him steamed up was that he had to pay for a TV license. So what did he do? He stole a famous british painting and held it for ransom. 

In 1986 a mysterious heist crew tunneled into the First Interstate Bank in Hollywood, California. They got away with millions of dollars and sped down the Los Angeles underground flood tunnels on ATVs. This is a heist we've been trying to cover for a year now, it's possibly one of the coolest heist stories we've ever come across. A full Hollywood level heist, and not just because it happened in Hollywood, the story is full on nuts and is chalk full of sweet heist lessons about alarm systems and vault technology. In 1925 Victor Lustig sold the Eiffel tower to an up-and-coming scrap metal dealer. One thing though, the Eiffel tower wasn't for sale and the whole thing was a big ol' scam. Today we tell the tale of Edward James "Jockey" Smith a ruthless and totally insane criminal from Australia. While Jockey wasn't exactly Danny Ocean, he made up for it by being a full rage machine criminal maniac, who would shoot at anyone that got in his way. Why was he so mad? Well it might have something to do with being a short guy. But through a mentor in jail Jockey learned how to focus that rage to eventually become Australia's Public Enemy Number One. 

Scott Scurlock aka the Hollywood Bandit, was passionate about a lot of things. Primarily, robbing banks, cranking meth, building cool tree forts and most importantly blasting through copious amounts of cash. Hear all about Scurlock and his hippy crew "The Tribe's" many exploits including pulling off some serious stick'em ups that got them that sweet coveted vault money. 

This isn't the Great Train Robbery, the is the Great Gold Train robbery that took place almost 100 years before. Picture a full on bank heist, but on a moving train! In 1850, four men pulled off the biggest train robbery in history when they stole millions of dollars of gold from the South East Railway train on its way from London to Dover. This dude not only broke out of a max security prison he also built a secret fort inside Toys 'R' Us and lived out all our childhood dreams, playing with rc cars at night and living off candy and baby food for months. In 2008, career criminal Sean Murphy was pissed after his New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. So what did he do to get revenge? Well he stole 14 of their Super Bowl rings. He might have gotten away with it too, if he didn't give one of those rings to his 19 year old girlfriend. HEIST!

Robin Ramirez, wasn't your average coupon-cutting suburban housewife.  Through her website savvyshoppersite.com Robin sold exact copies of high value coupons and with the profits amassed a collection of sports cars, speed boats, guns and RVs, and stored them all inside of a massive airplane hanger (just like GTA5.) During the 1970s Douglas Groat worked at the super secret heist department of the CIA called "The Shop." That's right, the CIA has a special elite team of heisters whose primary goal is to break into foreign embassies to steal secret documents and code books.
