' Today's podcast will feature three topics of the week. First, we will review the current status of the Internal Revenue Service's project to update the new markets tax credits regulations. Next, we will examine state tax credits that can be generated by donating conservation easements and review recent investigations into possible abuse of these programs Third, we'll bring you up to speed on the energy tax bill that was passed by Congress last week.

Today's podcast will feature two topics of the week. We will first take a look at the use of tax-exempt bonds in new markets tax credits transactions. Next, we will provide a summary of state historic tax credit programs and take a quick look at Ohio's historic tax credit program, as it recently announced the first round of awards.

Our first report of December focuses on two topics of the week. First we will review projected key dates for new markets tax credit professionals, including when we expect debriefing letters to be sent, when recent awardees can expect to start seeing allocation agreements, and when the CDFI Fund is expected to release the upcoming Notice of Allocation Availability or NOAA. Second, we will examine new rules for tax preparers and the effect they will have on affordable housing and community development entities.

This week we're going to cover three issues: as promised last week, my first order of business will be to say a few words of welcome on the appointment of the new CDFI Fund Director, Donna Gambrell. Next we'll take a look at the presidential candidates' stances on renewable energy production and investment tax credits. Finally we'll update you on the recent exchange of letters with the Securities Exchange Commission and the impact of these letters on the audit and other operating costs of LIHTC partnerships.

Second we'll look at the status of legislation to extend the new markets tax credit through 2009. Third, we're going to look at the status of efforts to extend renewable energy tax credits.

This week we're going to cover three issues. First, the qualified contract proposed regulations, including a discussion of the hearing that was held on Monday, October 15th, 2007. Next we'll discuss the recently released list of Difficult to Develop Areas for 2008. And, third, we'll preview the upcoming Novogradac report on the impact of revised area median gross incomes that were released by HUD earlier this year.
