Joe LaRocque Founder of RockSolid
05/08/2015 Duration: 01h21minKids all over the country are playing “non-contact” football--during such things as flag football, off-season padless practice, and athletic period--believing that "non-contact" means just that, ZERO contact. However, we believe there’s no such thing as “non-contact” football. In football, players are always crossing and converging on a single point; this makes contact inevitable. Additionally, many injuries occur downfield, when multiple players are going for the ball--a situation in which avoiding contact is nearly impossible. Former NFL players Joey LaRocque and Caleb Hanie realized this over the course of their careers, in which they saw countless soft tissue injuries to the head and face during "non-contact" football, flag football, and high school padless practices. After retiring from the NFL, Joey and Caleb decided something needed to be done about this gap between perception and reality.

In my early 20s, as a top buyer for a French fashion designer in Beverly Hills, I was constantly on the go. So when I became pregnant with my first child, it didn't occur to me to slow down. Some say I sped up.Like many expecting moms, I started scrutinizing my lifestyle. Okay, I admit, I took it farther than most! I initiated what has become an ongoing endeavor to purify body, home, and way of life with a mission to raise my family in a natural, eco-friendly environment. I became a vegetarian, eating only locally grown, organic foods purchased from my local farmer's market. I stocked up on organic cloth diapers for my newborn and devoted myself to breastfeeding. I started gardening and composting. And for the first time in my life, I began scrutinizing labels. Unable to decipher some of the ingredients in the baby shampoo I found in a local health food store, I consult

When you reach that platform, you’ve become a “LOCK.” While we can’t all become Locks on the field, the world of Fantasy Sports currently offers an alternative outlet to over 41 million Americans. But despite being the 9th fastest growing industry in the world, most have been playing the same way, on the same platforms for the last 15 years. As technology evolves, stagnation within a market becomes problematic, and ultimately offers incredible opportunity to elicit change. We at SportsLock decided to be that “change.”
