Shaun Morgan of Seether joins Joshua Toomey and the Talk Toomey podcast this week. Shaun discusses the 20th anniversary of Disclaimer and the 3 album set that is being released January 20th. Shaun and Joshua start the chat with Shaun's move to Nashville and sitting in on writing sessions, neighbors giving up the dream and his confidence writing with others. Shaun dives into being the one touring musician in the neighborhood and having a tour bus show up to start a tour. He talks the best part of a cul-de-sac chili cookoff (spolier: jello shots)!  Shaun also opens up about just wanting to be regular guy Shaun and not be the guy from Seether all the time. Toomey and Akin start the show with the news that the WWE has sold and they talk about the value of content. The guys then switch focus over to Terry Glaze and his Pantera Celebration comments that were not that Van Halen is a great band. Joshua and Chris then break down the story of a La Vernge police department that turned X-rated. John Tardy of Obituary joins the Talk Toomey Podcast to discuss their latest album, Dying of Everything. John talks about writing and recording during the pandemic and having to sit on the album. He speaks on not wanting to release the album when they couldn't tour. John lets us know about the writing process and the convenience of having built a studio. He also talks about recent tours with Amon Amarth, Black Label Society and the final Slayer shows. John and Joshua also reflect on the early days of Sepultura in the US and meeting those guys at Morrisound Studios. The guys finish the talk with some football discussion. 

Joshua and Chris start the show with somber news of Bob Nalbandian passing and share some great stories of the legend. Mark Tremonti speaks on being approached by Rex Brown to throw his name in the hat for the Pantera gig. Richie Faulkner gives his thoughts on Zakk being the guy for the gig. Devin Townsend says Nickleback's Chad Kroeger is more metal than him. System Of A Down drummer, John Dolmayan, has some words for Serg and the rest of the band. Arch Enemy's  Alissa White-Gluz discusses her relationship with Doyle and Chris fights back his tears. 

Toomey and Akin are back for the final episode of 2022 and both give their Top 10 Albums of the Year. Joshua and Chris start the show with catching up from Christmas and tell a few tales. The guys break down their lists and look ahead to 2023. To finish up they discuss great shows they've been to that are not metal and look back to the interviews that they conducted in 2022. 

Joshua and Chris return this week with some Christmas good time goodness....actually who are we kidding it's Pantera talk and more. The guys start the show with some football talk and catching up on what has happened recently. Toomey recounts his trip to see Jason Mewes at a local comedy club. He talks about his hate for local humor at comedy shows and then gets into his review of the Mewes show and talks about the View Askew Universe.  The guys dive into what Tim "Ripper" Owens and Robb Flynn had to say about the Pantera celebration. Chris gives a quick review of the Metallica Charity concert. Toomey and Akin also hit on some Lamb of God news, Deftones recording a new album and Toomey tells a story of hanging with Stephen Carpenter. Also rumors of Limp Bizkit in the studio enter the discussion. Joshua and Chris also pull the curtain back and talk about interviewing character bands. The guys finish the Christmas episode with some favorite Christmas movie talk and dive into the career of Macaulay Culkin. 

The weekly saga of As The Pantera Turns continues this week on Talk Toomey. Toomey and Akin discuss Rex Brown missing shows already, Pantera being announced on the summer festival circuit and The Illegals being a minor league team for the band. They guys also talk about Dino Cazares speaking on the new singer and touring in a van. Once again tour struggles are on the table with Anthrax backing out of Bloodstock. They then hit on the upcoming Chimaira shows in Cleveland and debate where Chimaira would be if they put out a new album and did a full tour. They finish with some recommendations and football talk. 

Tucker Rule of Thursday and the newest supergroup to hit the airwaves, L.S. Dunes, joins the Talk Toomey podcast this week. Tucker and Joshua discuss putting together L.S. Dunes during the pandemic, his friendships with the members of the band and actually writing these songs in a room with the guys. Tucker speaks on taking Coheed and Cambria on one of their first tours, knowing My Chemical Romance from them attending Thursday shows in the early days and watching his friends become successful. The guys talk about the influences on Thursday and how Tucker approaches writing drum parts. Tucker then tells the story of filling in for My Chemical Romance at the height of The Black Parade. The chat ends with the futures of both L.S. Dunes and Thursday. 

Toomey and Akin start the show talking  about Toomey's recent Riki Rachtman interview. The guys then dive into the stories of where they were when they heard that Dimebag Darrell was murdered. Joshua and Chris breakdown the footage of the first Pantera shows back, talk about the setlist and stage show. What did they think of Zakk? What did they think about Charlie? It is all inside! They also talk about Paul Stanley's comments on the Pantera reunion. Toomey and Akin got their Metallica and Pantera tickets and discuss the price and where they are sitting. Joshua give some love to Crosses, Jelly Roll and Wayne County Lyfe. As always they end with some Browns and Titans talk. 

Riki Rachtman returns to the Talk Toomey podcast this week to discuss his upcoming One Foot In The Gutter tour. Riki and Joshua talk about wearing the t-shirt of the band you are seeing, his upcoming appearance on the Headbangers Boat and doing a SiriusXM Takeover for Jose. Riki speaks on going on tour after years of hearing his band guy friends telling stories. He also answers the question of who was a guest of Headbangers Ball that people don't talk about that he is proud of. He recalls singing Stone Cold Crazy with Metallica and going to Texas Stadium with Pantera. Riki gives his thoughts on the Pantera reunion and if he thinks it is a money grab.  He also gives some love to Amon Amarth and his thoughts on the new Metallica single. 

Stop The Presses!!! METALLICA AND PANTERA ARE TOURING TOGETHER!!  Toomey and Akin spend most of the episode looking at the upcoming tour dates, the new Metallica tune and thoughts on the scale of the Pantera set at these shows. The guys breakdown all the special Metallica packages and pricing and once again talk about how much they are willing to pay to see Pantera live in the coming years. To finish out the episode they talk some Welcome To Chippendales and Netflix's Wednesday. 

Amigo the Devil sat down with Joshua Toomey and the Talk Toomey Podcast at his recent stop at Louder Than Life. The guys playing with a full band at the festival, Carson being crazy on the drums and his background in metal. They talk the songwriting process and Amigo's honesty in his music. Arrangements and Elvis are brought up. He wishes he could pinpoint a specific influence on his music and they talk collecting instruments and trinkets. They end the conversation with his recent cave exploring. 

Ash Costello and Nikki Misery of New Years Day recently sat down with the Talk Toomey Podcast at their stop at Louder Than Life. The band starts the talk with an update on stolen gear and losing a bus driver. Joshua and NYD talk about the single, Hurts Like Hell, and them moving into fun and catchy and not so dark. Ash comments on being vulnerable in her lyrics and then all hell breaks loose when Vinnie Paul stories start. The interview ends with tour plans and finishing the new record.

Mike Mushok of Staind and Saint Asonia joins the podcast this week to discuss Saint Asonia's latest EPs. Mike talks about the formation of the band, writing with Adam Gontier and his time in Newsted. Mike talks about growing up a shredder and playing guitar for hours at a time as a kid. The guys discuss the differences in playing huge fests with Staind and going out with Skillet with Saint Asonia. Joshua and Mike discuss their respective stories with Fred Durst in the 90s and Mike talks about getting Staind back together for festivals. Layne and Myles Ulrich stopped to talk to Talk Toomey Podcast at their recent stop at Louder Than Life. The guys discussed their track "As The Sun Sets" and being a 2-piece band. Joshua and the brothers talk about filling the stage with only two people on stage. Layne and Myles speak on being siblings and if they thought they would ever be in a band together. They also answer the topic of the other Metallica kids being in bands and seeing them also succeeding out on their own. *The audio drops during the last question.

Joshua and Chris start the show with some talk about their recent interviews with Justin Foley and Dave Ellefson, respectively. Chris gives a review of his audio purchase of the Metallica Zazula Benefit Concert. Pantera are now Funko Pops, the guys touch on the Metal Grammy Nominees and they breakdown a list of the 13 greatest strip club songs. Rob Halford talks being on stage with K.K. and should there be a Type O Negative celebration. Chris comments on a story about a man falling in a vat of molten iron and being immediately incinerated. The guys give some recommendations and preview some upcoming interviews. 

Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage joins the Talk Toomey Podcast to discuss his project, Lybica. The guys start the chat with some talk of Justin moving to Florida and dealing with hurricanes. Justin then talks about having three dummers by trade in the band and how they speak to each other in the writing process. He then speaks on his writing in Killswitch Engage and having a simple kit in such a heavy band. Justin remembers back in the day when he had a "Rush" kit and getting made fun of by the hardcore community. Joshua and Justin then talk about the recent Lamb Of God / Killswitch Engage tour. The guys talk about the revolving door of openers on the tour and how it was refreshing for the bands, Joshua touches on "Atonement" and Justin speaks on having his old friend Howard Jones back in the fold jumping on a song and on stage. Toomey speaks on his love of System Of A Down and defends his stance to Akin. Chris gives his thoughts on Halford singing with Dolly Parton at the Rock Hall induction. The guys discuss the lack of comradery between KK and the other members of Judas Priest. They then talk a little about the tragedy with former Helix guitarist, Daniel Fawcett. Toomey and Akin get into the M. Shadows comments on "fan abuse" and multiple versions of albums. They end with talk about the Weird Al movie and it's greatness.
