  • ‘Little by Little’ Chelsea FanCast #1110

    19/02/2024 Duration: 01h44min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Marco Worrall to look back at a great Chelsea performance against Man City.In part one we applaud a great Chelsea performance, redolent of Chelsea v Barcelona from days gone by; tactically disciplined, counter attacking brilliantly and defending like demons. Did this young team come of age on Saturday? Massive shout outs to the defence - Disasi a rock; Colwill assured; Gusto superb; Chilly back to his best; should this be the defence going forward? Can or should Gusto keep James out when he's fit? The midfield were superb; Moises was tenacious and did well not to get a 2nd yellow; Enzo was here, there and every fucking where; Gallagher was imperious and snuffed out Rodri. In attack Palmer was ice cold as per; fair play to Sterling with a great goal and Jackson with a great assist and good work all match. In part two we ask are we better as a counterattack team, getting the ball forward quickly, mixed with long balls makes us more threatening but it doesn’t work

  • 'Three Little Birds' Chelsea FanCast #1108

    13/02/2024 Duration: 02h04min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman to look back at a great turnaround away to Crystal Palace on Monday night. In part one, we discuss a horrible first half, but was it all down to Silva starting? With Enzo all over the place, Caicedo hapless, Madueke consistently inconsistent and only Gusto showing up, Chelsea found themselves 1-0 down at half-time. Thanks to Palace playing Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds' while waiting for referee Michael Oliver to come out after the break, Chelsea supporters gave a full throated rendition of it for much of the second half - reminiscent perhaps of Chelsea v Napoli back in 2012. But did this give the players the lift they needed? Conor Gallagher scored two great goals at the beginning and end of the second half and Enzo's goal was the cream on top of the cake in a 3-1 win. A shout out to Petrovic too for some great saves that kept Chelsea in it but perhaps the biggest shout out should go to the away fans, for some great vocal support epitomised

  • Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #1107

    09/02/2024 Duration: 02h04min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Martin Wickham to look back at a much needed win and performance to knock Aston Villa out of the FA Cup and look ahead to Monday night's match against Crystal Palace. In part one we look back at a great night at Villa Park. Was it the best performance of the season and where did that come from? It was like Chelsea from the past: intensity, strong, aggressive, desire, team effort, compact and tactically superb. Much credit should go to under pressure Pochettino. Disasi and Gusto were superb and Enzo and Moises ran the match. And the away support was fantastic. But is it a coincidence that we played better without the dropped Sterling and Silva? Chelsea played higher up the pitch; the defence, midfield and attack were closer together which made the defence less exposed and the passing forward quicker and easier and without Sterling we looked more direct without running in to blind alleys, falling over or giving the ball away. Bring on Dirty Leeds, but we

  • ‘Little Pigs 2 Wolves 4’ Chelsea FanCast #1106

    05/02/2024 Duration: 02h07min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Mark Meehan to look back at a shambolic defeat at home to Wolves and ahead to Wednesday night's FA Cup replay away to Aston Villa. In part one, another great day out ruined by the football. Caice-doh evens the score. No fight; no intelligence; no identity; no style; no clue; no hope - it really is this bad isn’t it? Will they sack Pochettino? Would he deserve it? Jose not the answer. What’s going on behind the scenes? Winstanley & Stewart need to go, but the finger of blame points to Begdhad Egbahli – how do we hold him to account? In part two we welcome back Justin Hawthorne from Up the Villa for the Opposition View. How confident is Justin after the 5-0 win at Sheffield? It was much closer at the Bridge than we all predicted; we couldn’t score of course, but thought Villa were too cautious until we tired. Chelsea have been terrible since – what’s Justin's thoughts? History is on Chelsea’s side but...Justin tells us how he thinks it will go and gives u

    02/02/2024 Duration: 01h51min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman to look back at an infuriating defeat away to Liverpool and ahead to a chance to redeem themselves against Wolves on Sunday. In part one we look back at the horrible defeat to Liverpool in midweek. How crucial was the denial of two stone cold penalties to the outcome of the match? That said we were basically awful - outclassed, out thought and out fought and didn’t compete for more than about 15 minutes. The only bright spots were Petrovic again and Nkunku’s goal.We are so far off it. The recruitment, ownership and players are simply not good enough but Poch is also culpable, but if we get rid of Poch who would we get now? So far has the club fallen, under Clearlake, from the standards at Chelsea we are accustomed to, most probably average English young managers or unknown European managers but no one of the elite level we are used to. In part two we look ahead to Sunday's match against Wolves kicking off with JK's summary of the presser an

  • ‘It’s Progress Jim, But Not as We Know It!’ Chelsea FanCast #1104

    29/01/2024 Duration: 01h38min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Marco Worrall to look back at the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa and ahead to Wednesday night's match against Liverpool. In part one we look back at the 0-0 draw in the FA Cup against Aston Villa. The injury curse strikes again as Colwill withdraws but his replacement Gilchrist did well. Chelsea were dominant in the first half but, wash, rinse, repeat - can’t score, although Martinez is a top keeper and kept them in it. Chelsea were on the front foot, pressing and were up for it and the atmosphere was rocking as a result. In the second half we tired, and Petrovic kept us in it.We ask was the Ref Taylor in disguise? And discuss Mudryk and Broja being truly hopeless; it was like playing with 9 men when they came on. But it was a very good performance, especially the pressing, just a frustrating result. We potentially have Leeds at home next if we can beat Villa in the replay – but can we?In part two we preview the Liverpool v Chelsea match on Wednesday night, kick

    25/01/2024 Duration: 01h53min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Tony Glover to look back at the thrashing of Middlesbrough taking Chelsea to another Wembley final and ahead to Friday night's visit of Aston Villa in the FA Cup to hopefully set us on the patch to another Wembley final! In part one we applaud Chelsea's clinical finishing, in our biggest ever semifinal win. Palmer was outstanding and Chilwell is a class above. Well done too to Colwill and Disasi and while Sterling is frustrating he had a good game in reality. However, patience with Mudryk appears to be growing thin judging by the berating he got from Enzo and Chilwell and Broja continues to play with angst. But Chelsea reach their 18th Wembley final since 2000 which considering everything that’s going this season is huge.In part two we welcome back Justin Hawthorne from Up The Villa for the Opposition View. We talk to Justin about the secret of Emery’s success this season? Which players have impressed? What’s more important – a trophy or a top 4 finish? Can Vill

  • ‘Stressful!’ Chelsea FanCast #1099

    15/01/2024 Duration: 01h47min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Marco Worrall, Chelsea author and Gate 17 publisher to look back at Chelsea's 1-0 win over Fulham. In part one we discuss Chelsea's laborious first half AGAIN with too many touches and often poor ones; too slow in the build up and of course no idea how to hit the back of the net. Until referee Anthony Taylor shocked the entire world by awarding Chelsea a penalty at the end of the half, which Cole Palmer put away for his 9th goal of the season. The second half was much better with more energy, pressing and more direct with both Sterling and Gallagher hitting the post. But Chelsea couldn’t kill the game off and the last 10 minutes was a shambles, aided and abetted by Taylor and Keystone Kops defending, with stupid free kicks given away, running into defenders and wrong passes. At least we cheered the hoofs up field as Chelsea eventually saw the game out, but it was stressful! In part two we praise Petrovic who was quietly impressive again. Should he be Chelsea

    12/01/2024 Duration: 01h51min

Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Clayton Beerman to look back at a miserable night in Middlesbrough and ahead to Saturday's match against Fulham. In part one we look back at the shocking 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. It was all so predictable - concede first and can’t break a side down. Defensive errors are still rife. Injuries yes, inexperience yes but no excuse for a lack of desire, football intelligence and execution. It’s only half-time – 1-0 down and should be retrievable but…is Pochettino’s position really in jeopardy? In part two we welcome back Dom Betts from The Fulhamish Podcast to 'The Opposition View'. We discuss Fulham’s season so far , has it been a bit up and down? How have they coped without Mitrovic? How is Willian doing? Can you get to the Carabao final and what would he think of a Chelsea v Fulham final? And we ask Dom how he sees it going on Saturday and what is his prediction? In part three JK reports back on todays the presser
