    This is the second in a series of episodes of Movember Radio raising awareness in the lead up to World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th with the powerful message of “Men, let’s talk when things get tough”. We talk to Mo Bro Allan Sparkes CV, a decorated police officer and one of only five Australian heroes to be awarded the highest bravery decoration, the Cross of Valour. Through Al’s service he developed chronic post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and associated chronic depression and became suicidal. He spent a lot of time recovering from these illnesses. Al has been an ambassador for beyondblue and Soldier On for the past three years and regularly speaks about suicide and mental health.   • The Mo who ran 100km for men’s health

    In this episode of Movember Radio, we chat to Kieran Ryan, a passionate Mo Bro from Stawell, Australia who first got involved with Movember in 2009 when he was 21 years old, after losing two close mates to suicide. Kieran has been a champion for men’s health, running 100km for Movember back in 2012 and his team helped raise more than $50,000 over seven years. Kieran then went on to trek the Kokoda Trail with Mo Bro Ambassador and Paralympian Kurt Fearnley for the 100th Anniversary of ANZAC Day in 2014.   • The monk who got testicular cancer

    In this episode of Movember Radio, we chat to Andy Puddicombe, a meditation and mindfulness expert and founder of the hugely popular mindfulness app “Headspace”. In 2013, Andy was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Mindfulness has helped him to cope with the physical, emotional and mental impact of the illness.   • A journey from fighter to survivor

    In this episode of Movember Radio, we chat to Jonny Imerman, the founder of Imerman Angels and a testicular cancer survivor who was diagnosed at the age of 26. Jonny talks openly about the challenges he faced going through surgery and chemotherapy and the support he received on his journey from family and friends, but never met anyone his age that was a cancer survivor. Early detection is key as testicular cancer is a highly treatable disease.     In this episode of Movember Radio, we chat to Jonny Benjamin - a mental health campaigner who spends his life visiting schools, universities, prisons, hospitals and corporations talking about his experience. In 2008, Jonny was about to jump off a bridge over the river Thames before a stranger stepped in and talked him back from the brink. This experience led to a personal transformation for Jonny and a television documentary about that moment which has been viewed by 300 million people online.
