Sometimes referred to as the New Testament Proverbs, this writing is full of interesting word pictures, practical wisdom, & easy-to-understand commands, challenging us to put feet to our faith and walk what we talk. As we close the book on Acts, The Unfinished Story, we are reminded that we have been tasked to take the Gospel to the Planet in the power of the Spirit. The only question is…will God find US faithful to partner with Him?

As we move into a new year, we must get back to what matters most, to re-tune & re-focus on the ONE who is FOUND FAITHFUL to do what He has promised.

There isn’t much that speaks louder than THE POWER OF A CHANGED LIFE. Rather than sit the sidelines, we are reminded that God saved us to send us to a world looking for real purpose & lasting peace.

The Messiah came to do more than make us free; He came to make us family. Today we discover how the long awaited Messiah fulfilled the prophecies to bless all nations.

The Jewish people had long been awaiting the coming of the Messiah. They knew the family lineage he would come from and had a hint where he would be born. They had even been given a timeframe in which he would come. But just WHY he was coming and WHO he was would be a show-stopper.

We have SO MUCH to be THANKFUL for! Today we have the unique opportunity to UNITE together, to remember what the Lord has done in the past, and be challenged to trust Him with our future.

Many conclude that if God CAN save us from tough times, He MUST save us from tough times. But in reality, this is nowhere taught in Scripture. Instead, we are comforted by the promise of His presence in the hard places.

Of all the claims in the Bible and of all the claims about Jesus, THIS ONE is the most foundational - the Cornerstone of Christianity is the resurrection of Jesus. Without the resurrection, Christianity crumbles. But…if He really is ALIVE, then the Resurrection changes everything!

Christians in our culture have many people, possessions, and comforts competing for first place in our lives. And while people we love, the stuff we own, and the privileges we have, influence our decisions, today we are reminded that the Christian’s first priority is to please the King above anyone or anything.

After our spiritual mentors have passed, who will grab the baton to continue the race as GUARDIANS of the true Gospel of Jesus? Today we are challenged to take on that task.

The message of Jesus is offensive. Those reading the gospel accounts will notice how many respond to His claims negatively. Yet Jesus trained his disciples to be tactical & truthful, even when it could cost them. Today we are reminded to speak the truth, even when our voices shake.

“In the Name of Jesus” is no magic phrase that closes prayers and guarantees all requests granted. Instead it is “in the name of Jesus” - by His authority & for His glory - that the all-powerful, life-changing message of the Gospel convicts & convinces sinful people that Jesus is worth following.

Sometimes Christians have the privilege of sharing the good news with those who know very little about the Gospel message. Other times, we fill in some major gaps for people who misunderstand the Gospel. Today’s teaching reminds us of the key role we play in the unfinished story.

As we nominate candidates for DEACONS, it is important we understand what role they play & what characteristics they must display. But we would each do well to ask another question: “Are these characteristics true of ME?”

What would happen if all who claimed to follow Jesus lived like they were empowered & expected to develop disciples? Today we ask one question to measure our commitment to that mission.

We all face times of discouragement, and followers of Jesus are NOT immune to feeling like throwing in the towel. DON’T. Today we discover how God helps us through these difficult days.

With all the wickedness going on in the world, it’s no surprise for us to wonder: Does God even hear? Does God even care? If so, how does He want us to respond to evil? Today we learn to take The Road Less Traveled.

A friend has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Will you approach to share the Gospel? How will you approach? Today we discover wise tactics as we confront contemporary culture with the ancient Gospel.

Our emotions & feelings don’t ALWAYS deceive us, but sometimes they do. So how can we keep from being fooled? There must be a deeper foundation than our feelings. So what IS that? Today we rediscover the importance of KNOWING & SHARING THE SCRIPTURES.
