In this episode I welcome Amy Ryan from the Benson Theater project. Amy also owns the Pizza Shoppe here in Omaha and is heading up restoration plans for the historic theater next to her shop. In this episode, I welcome Josh and Nick from Mtrl Design. We talk about their business, which is located at the Mastercraft Building in Downtown Omaha. They create amazing designs that are then cut by "Helga" a giant laser cutting machine. This laser cutter can blow through thick wood and bamboo like a knife through hot butter, or provide tiny, precise cuts that create intricate, modern products. In this episode I interview Kevin Coffey, writer for the Omaha World Herald. He's also an avid comic book fan and collector as well as a gamer, so we had lots to talk about. In fact, this episode had to be heavily edited as we drank a few cocktails and let the conversation travel far into the nerdosphere. Laurie joins us for the second half of the show as well and chimes in on toys, comics, and the joys of buying her husband toys.
