Winter is coming...to LA?!?! And who better to talk about it than two Syracuse natives! The Pauls watch the first episode of FX's Snowfall, per a fan's request. First, Paul explains to Paul why, like it or not, he has to watch the new season of American Horror Story. Then Paul announces he FINALLY watched the second episode of American Gods; he gives his 60 second review. Finally, they get down to Snowfall, as Paul explains where FX is in the current TV network totem pole. After they watch the episode, Paul explains the history of American efforts to fund the Nicaraguan Contras and its possible tie-in to cocaine in LA. Then Paul tries to get through an analysis of the episode's color scheme without losing his train of thought. Will he succeed? Come for the fresh new theme song...stay until the end for the detailed discussion of the two Pauls' (separate) adventures in Pasadena. The Pauls watch a show neither of them has seen before: American Horror Story. Taking advantage of the show's anthology format, they jump to season two's premiere after discussing the style of showrunner and co-creator, Ryan Murphy. Paul turns the table on the Doc, giving HIM a pre-show quiz! After watching, they return to discuss their thoughts on the show before spinning things into a wider discussion of horror as a genre. What is fear, and what are the different ways scary movies and TV shows generate physical and emotional responses in their audience? If you want to know the answer to that question, listen to the podcast! Next episode: By request, FX's new series, Snowfall

While neither Paul is a deep-dyed LCD fan, they humbly present their appraisal of the album, along with a few of their favorite tracks. Then Paul runs Paul through an intense round of Peaks or Pranks, touching on some of the highlights from Twin Peaks: The Return (15:00), which recently wrapped up its season. (Spoiler Alert: several scenes from the show are described, and a few early plot points are implied, but nothing major is spoiled.) Finally, the Pauls get to The Good Place, season 1 (23:30), which has recently become available on Netflix. (Spoiler Alert: the initial premise of the show is discussed, but all other plot points are withheld for your enjoyment!) COMING UP NEXT: American Horror Story

    04/08/2017 Duration: 23min

Paul comments on the comments of Paul and special guest, Maarten Jacobs, as the latter two watch HBO's modern classic political satire, Veep. It's like a director's commentary on a movie, only if the director wasn't there for the initial filming of the movie, and instead of a movie, it's a podcast about Veep. And if the director is the only one who knows the name of the actor who plays Gary in Veep and Buster in Arrested Development. Next Episode: Netflix's Ozark (Ep 1) On deck: HBO's Big Little Lies (Ep 1)

  • 22 - Baby Driver

    25/07/2017 Duration: 09min

Paul and Paul went to see Baby Driver. Then they recorded their thoughts. In the spirit of the film, they decided to record while driving home. Sadly, the podcast is of particularly POOR QUALITY. I (Paul) tried to salvage as much as I could. The world has lost some real gold, sadly, including Paul calling Jamie Foxx "Jamie Lewis." Feel free to skip this podcast if you find the distortion grating. The intro is clear enough, though. We recorded that...somewhere else. Coming up next: Handmaid's Tale

    17/07/2017 Duration: 17min

Break out your mittens, hats, and fleece-lined chainmail! Game of Thrones is back for its PENULTIMATE season. 07/06/2017 Duration: 30min
