Ohio State survived a difficult road test in a tough environment with Saturday’s 17-14 win at Notre Dame at literally the last second. The Buckeyes may have taken six years off our lives in that nailbiter that didn’t seem to need to be one for much of the game, but at least the team emerged with its undefeated record intact. It was a fantastic growing experience for quarterback Kyle McCord, who put on his big boy pants and led the team down the field for a clutch winning touchdown on the road, converting multiple gotta-have-it plays on the final drive. We break down a win to remember with all of the key plays, big performances, and curious coaching decisions (from both sides) that contributed to the outcome of this game. Your hosts, Matt Tamanini and Jami Jurich, will (of course) talk Ohio State sports, but the primary focus of the show will be on what’s going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games. At long last, the Buckeyes finally looked like the Buckeyes. While Western Kentucky might not be the strongest test, it was at least nice to see Ohio State playing football that resembles what we’ve seen from the Buckeyes in recent years. The 63-10 win was a comprehensive one, although it wasn’t without its bumps in the early going. In the end, the improving Ohio State offensive line did well and the defense continues to look good. Heck, they even came up with some defensive touchdowns in this one.
