Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. ‘Bucketheads’ will be released every Thursday morning throughout the regular season. In a rare "Bucketheads" Emergency podcast ™, Connor gives his thoughts on Ohio State’s disastrous home loss to last-place Nebraska and what that means for their seeding in the Big Ten Tournament. He goes over the key injuries the Buckeyes dealt with Tuesday night, and why the issues that this team has on defense are unlikely to be corrected this season. He also gripes about the Buckeyes messing up his hotel reservations and how this Ohio State team in particular is so volatile. We’ve seen them hang with elite teams already this season, but they have also sank to the low level of s

  • LGHL Uncut: Wheeler, Ahrens, Holtmann Discuss Rock-Bottom Loss to Nebraska (03/01/22)

    02/03/2022 Duration: 32min

Throughout the season, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conference, but also from individual interview sessions. On this episode, Jamari Wheeler, Justin Ahrens, and Chris Holtmann discuss No. 23 Ohio State’s (18-9, 11-7) terrible, awful, no good, very bad loss to Nebraska (9-21, 3-16) Tuesday night. Despite leading for a portion of this game and rarely trailing by more than six or seven points, the Buckeyes were unable to string stops together to make up the deficit, falling to the Big Ten’s worst team on their home floor. Wheeler and Ahrens had few answers to explain what contributed to the brutal loss. Wheeler said that the team simply did not come into the game with the focus needed for a game of this magnitude with Big Ten Tournament seeding on the line. They also mentioned that losing Kyle Young (plus Zed Key) was a killer, but that it was not why they lost this game. Holtmann then took the loss on the chin during his time, saying that it is his fault

  • Stick to Sports: Catching Up on OSU MBB & WBB for the Stretch Run, Explaining the Olympic Figure Skating Controversy (02/20/22)

    20/02/2022 Duration: 50min

Land-Grant Holy Land’s Stick to Sports is unlike any podcast you’ve heard on the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Matt Tamanini and Jami Jurich, will (of course) talk Ohio State sports, but the primary focus of the show will be on what’s going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that’s pop culture, social media trends— you name it. Over the past two weeks, Jami has been focused solely on the Winter Olympics in Beijing, so she has been neglecting all of the other things that she normally cares about, so Matt gives her a rundown of where things stand for both the Ohio State men's and women's basketball teams as they fight for postseason seedings and fleeting chances to secure Big Ten regular season titles. Then, they turn the tables as Jami goes in-depth to explain the controversy over 15-year-old Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva positive drug test, the Olympic rulings

    19/02/2022 Duration: 28min

On “The Dotted Line”, Land-Grant Holy Land’s Matt Tamanini talks to recruiting experts, LGHL’s recruiting analysts, and prospects themselves to get a unique perspective on the players that will be a part of Ohio State’s future. On this episode, Matt Tamanini is joined by LGHL recruiting columnist Caleb Houser to get into the Ohio State football Buckeyes' most recent commitment. Earlier this week the top-rated player in the state of Ohio, Findlay's Luke Montgomery pledged to play his college ball for Ohio State. The No. 49 player in the country, Montgomery is currently projected to play offensive tackle at the next level, and after breaking down his film, Caleb thinks that he'll be a great addition to the OSU offensive line. Matt and Caleb then discuss what's next for the Buckeyes' 2023 recruiting class, how the new additions to Ryan Day's staff have been doing on the trail since being hired, and who could be the next BOOM! Matt also gives Caleb the floor to express the grief and despair that he is still feeli

    18/02/2022 Duration: 01h39min

On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined, as always, by Jordan Williams to talk about Ohio State’s offseason and we discuss the Buckeyes playing indoors. We begin the show with the huge recruiting BOOOM in 4-star OT Luke Montgomery of Findlay High School. Justin Frye showed immediate impact on the recruiting trail and we discuss the type of player Ohio State is getting in Montgomery. After that, we discuss Gene Smith’s potential plan of having the Buckeyes playing their home playoff games in Lucas Oil Stadium. In a debate format that rivals the glory days of ESPN’s First Take, Chris and Jordan do not agree on the reasoning for moving the game to Indianapolis. We then discuss how Gene Smith decimated the Alliance, and we get into why Alliance scheduling was never going to be beneficial for the Big Ten. Then we get into a discussion about the new potential media deals for the Buckeyes. We talk about the potential value the Big Ten brings to the table and why it will continue to be th

  • Bucketheads: B1G Player of the Year Candidates OSU's E.J. Liddell, Iowa's Keegan Murray to Clash in Columbus on Saturday (02/17/22)

After a shockingly flat first half, No. 18 Ohio State (16-6, 9-4) rallied back to pummel Minnesota Tuesday night, 70-45. Connor and Justin compared this game to a high vs low-seeded NCAA Tournament game, and note that OSU’s defense has steadily improved since the Rutgers game. We also discuss Austin Parks’ commitment and what it means for the Buckeyes’ frontcourt, as well as our general excitement for both the 2022 and 2023 classes. Ohio State may not be great next season, but damnit, they’re going to be a lot of fun to watch. The episode is closed with a brief preview of this

  • Hangout in the Holy Land: Way-Too-Early Ohio State Defensive Depth Chart Predictions (02/16/22)

    16/02/2022 Duration: 01h06min

Land-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back! Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more! After breaking down the offense on last week’s episode, this week the guys are taking a stab at projecting the depth chart on the defensive side of the ball. While the offense has a good number of clear starters in 2022, the defense has a ton more question marks, both because of personnel changes and the introduction of Jim Knowles’ defensive system. Obviously the Ohio State defense must play much better if the Buckeyes wish to make it back to the College Football Playoff, and as a result you will likely see a bunch of new faces out there this fall. After trailing by two points at halftime, Ohio State overwhelmed Minnesota over the final 20 minutes, denying them their fourth conference win of the season. Key and Wheeler discussed some of the changes that needed to be made to play a cleaner second half. Wheeler also talked about his mindset when teams back off of him and “dare” him to shoot threes, like Minnesota did tonight. Head coach Chris Holtmann addressed Justin Ahrens’ reduced role on the team as the season progresses and his confidence in his team to pull away from opponents late. He described Ohio State’s pace as a “slow drip” that he knew would eventually lead to his team taking command of the game. Conn

In this episode of the I-70 football show we discuss the "upper bowl tier", Iowa, Penn State and Wisconsin all had relatively successful seasons, but they weren't the cream of the crop in the Big Ten. Penn State struggled for a second season in a row but still reached bowl eligibility. Wisconsin started out slow with a 1-3 record then won seven straight games behind their future star running back, Iowa almost reached the mountain top as the No. 2 team in the nation but couldn't sustain ending the season at 10-2 before two straight losses have them at 10-4. Despite having the worst record of the three teams we're still
