Buck Off Podcast: An honest conversation about Northwestern, Ohio State's run game, and presser bullets
04/11/2022 Duration: 01h34minOn today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I’m joined by Jordan Williams. We take an honest look at the Northwestern program from an outsider’s perspective to get prepared for Ohio State’s matchup against the Wildcats. To get the show started, we open with a discussion about why Northwestern is as bad as they are. Despite recently playing the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game, the Wildcats have been on a downward trajectory including not winning in the United States for over a year. We get into how Pat Fitzgerald needs to be in a “do-or-die” mindset with the Big Ten’s transition forward and ask the question – is Fitzgerald even trying? After that, the Buckeyes have started to give away their tendencies in the run game again with their alignment. Ryan Day was asked about it this week in his media availability, so we talk about his answer. Getting into Day’s philosophies and how he needs to continue to work on being creative before he gets stagnant again. Moving on from that, our discussio

Bucketheads: Big Ten Preview; Picking the Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Surprises, and More (11/03/22)
03/11/2022 Duration: 56min‘Bucketheads’ is the only men’s basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. ‘Bucketheads’ will be released every Thursday morning throughout the regular season. The guys start this week’s show by discussing what Ohio State did well and what they did not do well during this week’s exhibition game against the Chaminade Silverswords. Chris Holtmann was not overly pleased about his team’s effort — especially on the glass — despite his team winning by 44 points. Will adding Justice Sueing and Gene Brown to the mix improve their rebounding numbers by all that much? They also discuss which players could get squeezed out of the main rotation when Sueing and Brown return. Then, Justin and Connor give their best guesses on how the Big Ten conference will break down this season. Which surprise team does Connor have in his top four? Which team does Justin

Hangout in the Holy Land: Northwestern shouldn’t provide much of a challenge for Ohio State (11/02/22)
02/11/2022 Duration: 49minLand-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back! Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more! On this week’s episode, Gene and Josh preview Ohio State’s next game against Northwestern. After facing off against a tough Iowa defense and battling Penn State on the road, the Buckeyes should find things a bit easier this week as the Wildcats are having a pretty dreadful year. Sitting at 1-7 on the season, Pat Fitzgerald’s team has already made a chance at quarterback, and does not have the usual stout defense you would expect under the 17th-year head coach. The guys expect Ohio State to roll in this one, and also give their predictions for Tuesday night’s initial College Football Playoff rankings. LGHL Uncut: Holtmann, Holden, Gayle, and Thornton discuss exhibition win over Chaminade (11/01/22)
02/11/2022 Duration: 32minThroughout the year, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conferences, but also from individual interview sessions. Following Ohio State’s 101-57 victory over the Chaminade Silverswords at Value City Arena, Tanner Holden, Bruce Thornton, and Roddy Gayle spoke to the media about their first game in front of fans at Ohio State. The three players said that they’re confident in themselves against anyone in the nation if they can continue to improve defensively, but also that there were some nerves — especially for the freshmen. After that, head coach Chris Holtmann spoke to the media for about 20 minutes, and was especially critical of his team’s rebounding effort (Ohio State only out-rebounded Chaminade by eight, despite winning by 44). Holtmann said that Ohio State played very well for “several stretches” but that he wanted to see a bit more effort, hustle, and certainly more production on the glass. Holtmann was non-committal on the status of Justice Sueing (ank

Silver Bullets Podcast: Penn State Rewind and Northwestern Preview
01/11/2022 Duration: 01h28minFor the second consecutive week, Ohio State’s offense took a little while to get warmed up but then it was absolutely fine. Also for the second straight week, the defense forced key turnovers to effectively prevent the Buckeyes’ opponents from being able to take advantage of the offense’s slow start. We break down Ohio State’s 44-31 road win over the Penn State Nittany Lions, including a first half that seemed much tighter than it needed to be. We checked in on our score predictions to see how well we prognosticated the game, and poured over the statistical data to see if our picks to click actually...well, clicked. We took our usual stroll through the rest of the Big Ten games from Saturday to keep tabs on how everyone else made out. There was some ugliness in Ann Arbor and it wasn’t limited to the game between the Wolverines and Spartans, as it spilled into the tunnel after the game. While everyone seems to want to point out how easily Michigan handled Penn State compared to Ohio State’s trip to Happy Valle

I-70 Football Show: A weekend full of horror
31/10/2022 Duration: 01h16minWelcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show, we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan. October is full of horror as new scary movies drop, and old favorites end up on streaming services as many of us are searching for a good scare. I watched Halloween Ends, the final film in the Michael Myers series, this weekend and it was not even close to the scariest thing I’ve seen. That honor belongs to this week's Big Ten schedule as every game ended with a two-score deficit many of them larger than three. The horror doesn’t end there, this weekend was full of blowouts, and next weekend's schedule doesn’t have a single interesting game or a game with stakes. The closest game of the weekend was Ohio State vs. Pe

They go on to talk about J.T. Tuimoloau’s ridiculous showing, Marvin Harrison Jr.’s rise to stardom, Ohio State’s continued injury woes, and much more. Instant Recap Pod: J.T. Tuimoloau’s performance, late offensive surge leads Ohio State past Penn State
29/10/2022 Duration: 01h01minOhio State traveled to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions in their first real test of the season coming away 44-31. Jordan Williams is joined by Chris Renne to bring you the Land-Grant Holy Land “Instant Recap Podcast.” To get the show started, start the show off getting their anger out from Ohio State’s play-calling issues that kept Penn State in the game until the fourth quarter. In the first discussion the guys discuss the bubble screens, the run-play failures, and why the Buckeyes wouldn’t keep attacking down the field. After this discussion, they discuss what needs to change and why it takes so long for Ryan Day to be good at his jobs. Then we discuss why this game was 100 percent on coaching and why the players almost suffered a loss on those coaching failures. The defense showed up, but more specifically one player dominated in key moments, and you can easily guess who it was. We talk about J.T. Tuimoloau’s performance and how he won the game for the Buckeyes on that side of the ball. The rest of

Hangout in the Holy Land: Will Ohio State finally be tested by Penn State? (10/26/22)
26/10/2022 Duration: 55minLand-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back! Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more! On this week’s episode, Gene and Josh preview what should be one of two remaining tests for Ohio State during the regular season — at least we think. The Buckeyes have had a number of teams on the docket who could supposedly test them thus far, but none of them have. Penn State is really strong in some key areas, including the offensive skill positions and in the secondary, so maybe we can actually learn something about Ohio State’s defense this week. Will this be another close battle between these two schools, or will the Buckeyes finally pull away? Silver Bullets Podcast: Iowa Rewind and Penn State Preview
25/10/2022 Duration: 01h34minOhio State looked a little groggy coming out of the bye week for about a half but then figured out some things and found some rhythm to put Iowa on full blast, 54-10. Although the first half of the game may have been somewhat aggravating, the Buckeyes cruised in the end. It’s hard to know how much of the defensive performance was the OSU defense and how much of it was an inept Hawkeye offense. The truth is probably a bit of both. We looked back on our predictions for the game and it turns out we vastly underrated Ohio State’s offense (and/or overrated the Iowa defense). We go over the game’s talking points, including six takeaways by the defense, some odd playcalling and issues getting plays called at all, the continued emergence of Julian Fleming, and more. We welcomed Matt de Bear from Roar Lions Roar to get us up to speed on how the 2022 season has gone for the Penn State Nittany Lions. It sounds like the Buckeye offense will again be forced to figure out a stout defense, but on the road this time. Penn

Hangout in the Holy Land: Iowa’s offense really was as bad as advertised (10/23/22)
23/10/2022 Duration: 56minLand-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back! Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more! On this week’s episode, Gene and Josh sort through the rubble of the latest Ohio State blowout win. The Buckeyes defeated Iowa 54-10, but it certainly didn’t look or feel like the typical large margin of victory for Ryan Day’s squad. The guys breakdown what exactly went wrong with the offense in the first half, and how much if anything they learned about Ohio State’s defense with how dreadful the Iowa offense is. OSU fans should feel good about a 44-point win against one of the nation’s premier defenses, but there are certainly things that need to be cleaned up moving forward. 22/10/2022 Duration: 57minOhio State hosted Iowa and beat them in a dominant manner 54-10. Jordan Williams is joined by Chris Renne to bring you the Land-Grant Holy Land “Instant Recap Podcast.” To get the show started, the guys get into their initial takeaways from Iowa and how the slow start impacted their views of the game. Then they get into the dominant second-half performance from the Ohio State offense and defense. After the initial discussion, the guys get into the issues on offense in the first half and how Ohio State found their way in an aggressive manner in half two. Then Chris and Jordan talk about the Buckeye defense; they realize the OSU D was playing Iowa’s offense, but there were still some important takeaways. The defense showed up, bullied Iowa’s offense at the line of scrimmage, and forced the most turnovers they’ve had in a game in recent memory. After that, Jordan and Chris discuss the Players of the Game as well as their favorite moments including Tanner McAlister’s interceptions. They also discuss how Tommy E
