Land-Grant Holy Land's newest podcast series, Stick to Sports, will be unlike any podcast you've heard on the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Tia Johnston and Matt Tamanini, will (of course) talk Ohio State football, but the primary focus of the show will be on what's going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that's pop culture, social media trends-- you name it. After a hiatus in 2021, Matt and Tia are back to tell a new round of their favorite Xichigan jokes. It doesn't really matter if they make logical sense or not, it only matters if they are petty and funny. They also talk Tia's nervous game-watching habits, how annoying it is for beat writers to tweet what happens in a game when people are watching on a 30-second delay, and how Tia's husband being good at his job is saving dogs, but costing a lot of money! Ohio State’s win at Maryland was a bit stressful but in the end the Buckeyes did enough to get the job done on a day when other favored teams needed late scores to win or didn’t survive at all. From the jump of Sunday's home game for the Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team, it was a game destined for a Scarlet & Gray victory. The McNeese State Cowgirls entered Columbus as heavy underdogs, ultimately losing to the Buckeyes 99-43. After the game, two players who logged big minutes off the bench, and played strong in those minutes, spoke with the media, along with head coach Kevin McGuff. Eboni Walker, a senior transfer forward from Syracuse University, talked about her last two stops in the NCAA and how she feels being a Buckeye. Ohio State didn’t exactly look good doing it, but the Buckeyes defeated Maryland 43-30 on Saturday to remain unbeaten heading into the season finale against Michigan. It was one of those weekends in the college football world, as nobody in the top four looked good despite all four teams remaining unbeaten. In fact, Ohio State’s 13-point win over the Terps was the same margin of victory of the other three teams in the top four of the CFP combined. Still, the Buckeyes had some glaring issues in this one, but were bailed out by big performances by Dallan Hayden, Lathan Ransom and a handful of others. Following Ohio State’s grindy, mucky, 65-43 win over Eastern Illinois on Wednesday night, Isaac Likekele, Brice Sensabaugh, and head coach Chris Holtmann spoke to the media about the win as well as the Maui Invitational. Likekele and Sensabaugh began, with Likekele giving credit to Eastern Illinois. He reminded everyone that despite rankings, they’re “Still division-I athletes” and a “talented squad.” Likekele talked about the halftime mood when Ohio State was only up three points, and what Holtmann told them during their break.
