  • Episode 145: The Bold Ask Of A Dad For His Son

    20/03/2019 Duration: 20min

A dad has brought his boy to Jesus to be healed of demon possession. The demon throws the boy to the ground, and Jesus asks the dad about how long he’s been like this. The dad explains, and then the ask: If you can do anything, take pity on us and help us. What does it mean to make a bold ask with or without the “if?” Mark 9:14-29One of our #fhcTAKEAWAYS stated: Jesus said, “You have not because you don’t ask,” how can that be motivation for us to make some Bold Asks? Please reach out to us directly from the FHC Mobile App. You can share by using the Media tab, and then - Podcast banner - use the text and email share buttons, or use one of the following:■ Text/Voicemail: 407-965-1607■ Email: podcast@hospitalchurch.org■ FHC Mobile App: Media Tab/Podcast Banner and Use Text and Email links■ Social Media: #fhcPODCAST / #fhcTAKEAWAYSTune in every Wednesday as we take a look back at our prior week's message for unique takeaways, added perspective, and a peek at the upcoming message at the Florida Hospital Ch

  • Episode 144: The Bold Ask Of The Demons

    13/03/2019 Duration: 20min

In our culture today, we imagine we see it all. We believe our scientific minds and rational thinking are seeing the full picture. We forget that, as Paul wrote, “we war against spiritual wickedness.” Jesus recognized personified evil, and the demons recognized Jesus. They recognized his position and power. In light of how they had treated one of his sons—one of his creations, Jesus had every right to deal harshly. The demons make their ask, and Jesus grants their request. As followers of Jesus, what can we learn about dealing with the opposition?Mark 5:1-20One of our #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: Who needs to hear your story of what Jesus has done for you and what will it take for you to tell it?Join the fight and write Congress and the President asking them STOP the madness of Daylight Savings Time!: https://www.petition2congress.com/ctas/end-daylight-savings-timeNEW!!! • Episode 143: Right Worship - You Are What You Eat

    06/03/2019 Duration: 20min

God calls us to worship, and worship is the most important activity of any Christian. Through worship, we acknowledge our Creator, the undeserved grace of salvation, and our mission to bring God's kingdom to our world. One of our #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: Name 3 ways in which you can be more thankful to God in worship for his extravagant love toward us. • Episode 142: Worship - The Right Response

    27/02/2019 Duration: 21min

God is wonderful--the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Everything in all creation is from him, through him, and to him. We are the creatures, and God is Creator. It only makes sense that we would respond in worship. But the draw is strong to pick something other than Creator, something in his creation, and make that the object of our worship. However, the more we can come to know God in Jesus Christ, our motivation and the object of our worship will be drawn to God. He does it all, and our right response is worship, devotion, adoration, attention, focus, fidelity, and love--not just at a "worship" service, but 24/7, our lives a living sacrifice. One of our #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: How important is it for you to have the background information to understand “why” you are supposed to do something? Please reach out to us directly from the FHC Mobile App. You can share by using the Media tab, and then - Podcast banner - use the text and email share buttons, or use one of the following:■ Text/Voicemail: 407-965-

  • Episode 141: FHC Church Retreat 2019: Big Heart, Little Heart

    20/02/2019 Duration: 25min

This episode was taped during the annual FHC Retreat from Camp Kulaqua in High Springs Florida! Our speaker this year, Leclare Litchfield, spoke on “Big Heart, Little Heart,” considering how God pours the love, forgiveness, and grace from his big heart into the little hearts of his children. Therefore, it is God working through us, and not anything we can do on our own, that enables us to live a life in the image of Christ. Please reach out to us directly from the FHC Mobile App.  You can share by using the Media tab, and then - Podcast banner - use the text and email share buttons, or use one of the following:■ Text/Voicemail:  407-965-1607■ Email:  podcast@hospitalchurch.org■ FHC Mobile App:  Media Tab/Podcast Banner and Use Text and Email links■ Social Media:  #fhcPODCAST / #fhcTAKEAWAYSTune in every Wednesday as we take a look back at our prior week's message for unique takeaways, added perspective, and a peek at the upcoming message at the Florida Hospital Church.  Thank you for joining us and we will see

  • Episode 140: My Salvation Is Not Just For Me

    13/02/2019 Duration: 21min

God has been gracious to us. While we are running away from him, he reconciles us to himself. He invites us in, adopts us. We’ve been brought back as friends of God. This gift isn’t ours just so we can sit around the campfire with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit singing Kumbaya, and enjoying the warmth of that great fellowship. We are called to love as he has loved us—to do all we can to love others into that friendship circle. Will we join in the saving work of Jesus and really love people?  Matthew 28:19-20Oswald Chambers - In his classic devotional, “My Utmost for His Highest” here’s what it says for October 28:“I am not saved by believing—I simply realize I am saved by believing.  And it is not repentance that saves me—repentance is only the sign that I realized what God has done through Christ Jesus.  The danger here is putting the emphasis on the effect, instead of on the cause. Is it my obedience, consecration, and dedication that make me right with God?  It is never that!  I am made right with God be

  • Episode 139: My Gift Is Proportional To My Blessing

    06/02/2019 Duration: 18min

God’s plan is for “no pressure” giving and “no pressure” call to giving. The person on minimum wage and the top wage earner both are called to responsibly manage their money. While the total dollars may be very different, as a percentage of income, they are equal. Those who are wealthy have great responsibility in managing in a godly way the excess beyond meeting their own needs. To the one who has been given much, much is required.2 Corinthians 8:1-15One of our #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: What is a real and tangible way you can love and give according to what you have?We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 138: My Busy Interests Eclipse God's Party

    30/01/2019 Duration: 21min

We allow our urgent to suppress God’s important. This can happen individually and in organizations meant to serve God’s kingdom. We would never refuse to do God’s will overtly, but when the timing is never “right” because our stuff trumps God’s stuff, we end up inadvertently refusing to do God’s will. • Episode 137: My Heart Follows My Treasure

    23/01/2019 Duration: 11min

Jesus said something that is hard for material-minded American consumers to hear: “Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth . . . For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” To know where we are investing, all we need to do is check who has our heart. Following Jesus means investing in that which is important to Him; we decide where our priorities are and whether they align with Jesus' priorities. • Episode 136: My Comfort And God's Kingdom

    16/01/2019 Duration: 20min

There’s nothing evil about being comfortable. People who seek pain or suffering need counseling. However, if my life is all about my comfort, presently or in the future, and I’m not willing to give up some of my material abundance to relieve suffering and expand God’s kingdom, we may question ourselves and our true heart commitment to following God’s ways.#fhcTAKEAWAYS: What are you willing to sacrifice in order to love someone into a lifelong friendship with God?We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 135: My Money, My Business

    09/01/2019 Duration: 23min

When we believe our money and our possessions belong to us, we may begin to think of every other aspect of life in the same way. We imagine ourselves in charge. We call the shots, and we make God our helper, our servant, our cosmic Santa Claus. If we aren’t followers of Jesus, so be it, but as his followers, we recognize that we are not our own but God’s bought at a great price. • Episode 132: Love

    20/12/2018 Duration: 09min

Our text for today, Matthew 1:26, is about Jesus being called Immanuel, meaning God with us. There is no greater love, Jesus said, than that one would lay down his life for a friend. In the condescension of Christ to our earth, to become human for all eternity in order that he might reconcile all things to the Trinity, here is a love beyond our understanding. God so loved that he gave. In this season of gift giving, we can grasp a small piece of the reality that love gives. How can we become more the hands and feet of Jesus so that the Holy Spirit might be God with our world today? How can we practice love as servants of all who we meet? #fhcTAKEAWAYS: Being so perfectly loved by God, what responsibility does that put on you in regards to other people? We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 131: Joy

    12/12/2018 Duration: 21min

The angel declared “great joy” for everyone. If we read through the Old Testament, and especially the Psalms, we find a repeated call to sing and especially “shout” for joy to the Lord. Somewhere and somehow the joy has been tamed. Great joy calls for shouting and singing while some lesser joy can remain quiet. How do we recover a sense of joy? How might we followers of Jesus become an increasingly joy-filled people? There’s something attractive about a place filled with joy. Could that be CHURCH??#fhcTAKEAWAYS: Looking back at your own life journey, what can you see that God has gotten you through and how can that give you hope?We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 130: Peace

    05/12/2018 Duration: 20min

Jesus is announced as the arrival of “Peace On Earth.” How can we be peacemakers in our world so we can be blessed to be called God’s children? Today there are so many places that need peace. What will it mean to be a peacemaking follower of Jesus? Luke 2:14One of our weekly #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: What feelings come over you when you anticipate the holiday season? • Episode 129: God's Salvation

    28/11/2018 Duration: 22min

There are so many confusing things in religion–not just the religions of the world, but even within the teaching and life of Christianity. Subtle inroads are made to interject ourselves into the salvation process. Even in those Reformation Christians, it sneaks into equal faith and works. We may come to believe that God saves, but is it sort of a general “salvation made available” thing, and in order for it to be ours or to be maintained, it really is up to us and our actions? Some push this so far that our performance justifies God, believing that, in some warped sense, by our obedience, we become God’s savior before the universe and justify his work. The psalmist is clear, and so should we be: “I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.” Psalm 118:21One of our weekly #fhcTAKEAWAYS asked: Why do you think so many people struggle with the idea of salvation being a gift?We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 128: God's Never Ending Love

    21/11/2018 Duration: 18min

What are the implications for our well-being mentally, psychologically, and spiritually when we really buy into the idea that God’s love endures forever? How does knowing you are loved with a perfect love that is also without end affect how you live your life and how you share that love with others? Psalm 107:1For the second week in a row we are doubling down on our #fhcTAKEAWAYS starting with: How can you come to believe, not just intellectually but experientially that the Father’s love reflects the Father’s character NOT the children’s behavior? • Episode 127: God's Righteousness

    14/11/2018 Duration: 22min

We live in a culture that has moved away from absolutes. For many people, what is right has become what is right in their eyes. Christians believe there is a God who is right and whose actions, decisions, and choices are justifiable because they match what is right and true. Are there misconceptions that come with this belief, and what might we gain or lose when we believe it? Psalm 7:17This week we are doubling down on our #fhcTAKEAWAYS starting with: What will it mean to live knowing you are constantly free of condemnation in Christ? And following that with; Who do you wish could find this freedom in Christ? How will you help?We welcome your feedback and questions about this topic! • Episode 126: God's Wonderful Deeds

    07/11/2018 Duration: 15min

This could be a really long sermon if we just started listing all of God’s wonderful deeds. How do we receive them? What difference do they make in our lives? How can we not just be the selfish recipients but also part of the distribution team for having people enjoy and experience God’s wonderful deeds?
