Legendary R&B/Dance Classic Singer and entertainer Robin S. Joins us today for Brunch in the Basement with JaVonne. Today we're trying a little something extra as we go LIVE on Facebook. I am back in the basement playing some of my favorite gospel music and sharing my thoughts and prayers with you. The upgrade is I'm now bringing a friend along. One of my very inspirational and talented sisters will be co-hosting the show. I am so blessed to have Robin S joining the show. She helps keeps me lifted and is one of the most positive people I know. I'm so pleased to be able to share her with you. So tell a friend!

Rain Pryor, daughter of the legendary comedian Richard Pryor is an amazing artist who began her career as an actress in the hit sitcom "Head of the Class" which also starred Robin Givens. Rain also had a recurring role in the Showtime Series "Rude Awakening" where she portrayed a lesbian drug addict. Rain has also made appearances on various other shows, including talk shows and guest spots in series. She is also a comedian (not surprisingly) as well as a producer and writer. She is an Ambassodor for MS and a  Mother. She is currently starring in the one woman show she wrote and produced, "Fried Chicken and Latkes", and we are blessed to have her as our special guest on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne.

I am celebrating my birthday this weekend and I couldn't be more excited about the whole thing. Getting older, maturing is a wonderful blessing. I really can appreciate the finer things in life. With that being said, I am absolutely thrilled that we will be joined today by one of my favorite artists the Legendary R&B/POP/Dance artist, Lisa Lisa! Yes, Y'all the beautiful young lady who had us popping and locking in the 80's and 90s with her hit songs featuring the Cult Jam and who showed us all she could do it on her own when she had her solo hit, Skip To My Lu, then starred on a television show. This lovely Latina Lady has shown us that dreams come true if you work hard. What a wonderful birthday treat for me... 

The country is in an uproar as we prepare for the impact of the change that's about to come. Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States and we are officially a country divided. There are random acts of violence taking place, protests, and other powerful shows of discontent. Today, two of the deepest dopest sisters I know will be discussing the potential outcome of this election and how we might want to mobilize going forward. Terez Thorpe and her lovely and talented wife Monifah Carter-Thorpe. Also, as a special treat, we have former wide receiver Ron Dixon  of the New York Football Giants calling in to discuss the things he's been up to since retiring from football. However, this gentle giant will tickle your funny bone. Today he stops by and gives us some insight....or something .... on Brunch in the Basement With JaVonne.  

Timothy Bloom is a  2X Grammy Award winning song writer and singer. He has written award winning songs for both NeYo and Chris Brown. His soulful sounds and marvelous vocals take the listener on a mystical journey to a place where only the soul can go. It's no wonder that this under the radar artist was raised by not one, but two preachers. There are underlying gospel tones, old school soul rhythms, and neo soul feels all wrapped up in delicious melodies. The man is multi talented and we are so fotunate to welcome him to be a special guest in the basement with JaVonne. 

Today we're going to celebrate life, love, and laughter. We celebrate happiness, joy, blessings, dancing, hugging, and yes kissing our loved ones. Today is a day to rejoice and be grateful for the lives we have been blessed with. For those who we have loved and lost and for those we have with us today.
