I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got...I'm staying alert and in top condition... Winning happens in the locker room first. Do you have a handful of people who have your back no matter what? I want to challenge you to find a small group at Spring Branch! Moving to a new city, my wife Lyndsay and I are so excited to jump into a small group of other couples. We've realized we are better and stronger when we live in community! The struggles of the year gone by often leave us with hope for a better year. The hope we have for a better year is a precursor to something much greater. This innate hope for a better year is a shadow of our innate hope (desire) for the final end of disappointment, struggle and unrealized dreams. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind can even imagine what God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

Read Luke 1:26-38 and join me as we talk about how to let go of expectations and hold onto hope. Like Mary, have you ever had your plans "disrupted"? I sure have. But what if God wants us to trust He has something even greater planned. Invite a friend to come and be encouraged by the example of Mary.

What challenges have you faced this week? Where have you seen God's light? We live in challenging times. Jesus calls us to be a light in the midst of life's challenges. A great life is a life of service to Him. Every generation is creating a legacy. It comes in packages of 24 hours that we shape with our hearts and minds. This Sunday we will hear an amazing story from 2 Kings 4:1-7 and we will have the opportunity to shape our LEGACY. A legacy is God's light shining through all of us.

Today we will wrap up our message series entitled Holy Roar. Read Colossians 4:5-6 as I share a very important message about how to "walk with wisdom towards outsiders, making the best use of our time." What do our lives look and sound like to those around us? How do our words and actions point people to Jesus?

So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ that's where the action is.
