Ty Walz ended his career as a three-time Division I All-American for the Hokie wrestling program, just the third in the school's history. Walz will now move into a coaching role as the volunteer assistant coach as well as continue wrestling with hopes of making World and Olympic teams in the future representing the Southeast Regional Training Center. Olympian Frank Molinaro comes to Blacksburg as a four-time All-American and past NCAA wrestling champion. In August of 2016, Molinaro represented the U.S. at the Rio Olympic Games, finishing fifth at 65kg in men's freestyle. The Hokies will wrestle for the ACC regular season championship on Saturday, February 11 at 7 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum against eighth-ranked NC State. Coach Kevin Dresser's squad will then circle back and face No. 16 South Dakota State on Sunday, February 12 at 12:30 p.m. Afterwards, they'll await their opponent as the Hokies are set to host an NWCA National Duals Series match against a Big Ten opponent.
