Yes, the story is about Jacob becoming Israel, not Esau. But, there is an Esau inside all of us. That image that we want to be. So we build, protect, promote, and prove this image. The way Jacob wanted to be Esau. Until he met God. And was wounded. Then he limped into a new day, no longer trying to be Esau, but living out his true identity: Israel.

We are bored, afraid, alone, depressed, and stressed. So we binge, we splurge, and we munch. Is this really the best reflex? Genesis 27 shows that self-indulgence can lead to blindness. To devastating proportions.

In a world where the demands of the gods often leads to child sacrifice, Abraham discovers a very different God. A God who does not demand, but provides. A God who asks not for our sacrifice, but our trust.

Genesis 12. The turning point of the Bible. God call Abraham, blesses him, and promises him a land in which he will have many descendants who will bless the world. How are we doing with this? How can we extend God's blessing to our communities?

Me, myself, and I. The ego teaches us this universal language. It drives us to build ourselves upward. But the gospel counters this. It drives us to build our lives outward.

God floods the world. Does this make him cruel? Furious? Or is He kind and friendly?

What is luck? Does it exist? How do we respond to "bad luck?" How do luck and worship correlate? We are more like Cain than we like to think. This message covers all this and more.

The devil pursues us. God pursues us. Who do you pursue?

You submitted the questions. In this episode we provide the answers. Or maybe more of a discussion. Pastor Brandon thoughtfully leads us through five questions: 1. What does it mean to take God’s name in vain? 2. Why are women not required to wear a head covering when wearing one was commanded in the New Testament? 3. How critical is actually reading the Bible every day? I mean, could you get the same benefit from a recorded sermon, for instance? 4. Are we predestined or do we have free will? Are we chosen or do we choose? 5. How do you not only speak to God as you pray, but then listen to him as well?

After six days of creating, God rested on the seventh. He blessed the seventh day and set it apart from the other six as unique. Israel modeled this with the Sabbath. Jesus challenged the rules attached to it. The rest of the New Testament is strangely silent about it. Are we supposed to keep the Sabbath or not? Is there any value in it? This message will discuss some practical ways to incorporate more rest in our lives, while also challenging the Church's present concept of Sunday.
