  • Pray Like This, part 5: Our Daily Bread // Jamie Nunnally

    05/03/2023 Duration: 34min

Does Jesus really want us to ask the Father to give us food every day? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally continues the series about the Lord’s Prayer, focusing on the line: "Give us this day our daily bread." This is the first time in Jesus’ model prayer that we ask for something for ourselves. The word “daily” here means only what is necessary for today. You could say “sustain us with what we need for today.” Manna in wildernessExodus 16:2-5; 13-31 Notice, God gave it to them and he gave them only what they needed for the day: the two request in the Lord’s prayer.  Manna was training for dependence on God and contentment for today.  Why pray for our daily bread?1. Dependence on God.John 15:5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”Since our culture is so fiercely fights for our independence politically, Christians will have to fiercely fight for our dependence spiritually. The lie of our cu

    26/02/2023 Duration: 42min

We've all had times when we struggled to know God's will. How can we grow in our understanding of God's will for our lives? In this message, Tiffany Nunnally continues the series about the Lord’s prayer and shares about the next line: "Your will be done." In order to say “Your will be done," we also must say "my will be gone.”Ephesians 5:17 “So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” You can know the will of God!How is it in heaven? Rev. 21:4 “no more death, sorrow, crying or pain” God’s general will for everyone is found in the written word of God.“How can you know what the will of God is when you don’t know what the word of God says?” - Derek Prince God’s specific will for you is found in the spoken word of God.1 Corinthians 2:9-12 “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”10 But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and

  • Pray Like This, Part 3: Your Kingdom Come // Jamie Nunnally

    19/02/2023 Duration: 35min

What is God's kingdom and how do we access it? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally continues our series on the Lord's Prayer. He shares biblical insights that help us access the kingdom of God now.  Matthew 6:9-13 “Pray along these lines: ‘Our Father in heaven, we honor your holy name. We ask that your kingdom will come now. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. Give us our food again today, as usual, and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. Don’t bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One. Amen.’” What is the Kingdom of God?God’s rule and God’s reign displaying God’s will and way. The kingdom of God is God’s government currently active in heaven, demonstrated on earth by Jesus, offered to humanity, and accessed through obedience to God’s instructions. Government: rule, reign, method, system, directions, his preferences.Isaiah 9:6 Active in heaven: Heaven is already under God’s rule. That’s why we pray for heaven t

  • Pray Like This, Part 2: Hallowed Be Your Name // Jamie Nunnally

    12/02/2023 Duration: 37min

What does "hallowed" mean? How do you hallow God's name? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally explains why it is important to hallow God in prayer. Hallowed is actually a verb, not an adjective, that’s why they saw “hallowed be.” Hallowed is often translated holy, but holy is an adjective. Hallowed be thy name is not observing God’s holiness, its declaring God’s holiness. When we declare God’s holiness, we call that worship. To put it in modern day language we use, We would pray “Father in Heaven, I acknowledge that  your name is holy, so I worship you.”  This second line of the Lord’s prayer is a pause for praise. Today’s big idea: start your prayerwith worship! Why start prayer with worship?1. To prevent pride.  Worship puts the focus on someone other than ourselves. Matthew 6:5-6When we pray, we should value honesty over artistry. Don’t try to impress anyone—just be yourself. John 4:24 “For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”Truth here is authentic

  • Pray Like This, Part 1: Our Father // Jamie Nunnally

    05/02/2023 Duration: 37min

Do you consider God your father? What does it mean to have a Heavenly Father? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally unpacks the significance of knowing God as your Father.  Matthew 6:9-13 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Our Father (in heaven)At the time, Father was a shocking way to refer to God. No other religious tradition thinks of God as a Father.Romans 8:15-16  "Abba” and “eema” are the Aramaic equivalent to our English “dad and mom.” Used by Jesus in Mark 14:16 and used by Paul twice in Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6. The rest of the prayer is meant to be said as if you’re talking to a father! John 16:22-24 We live in a fatherless society: According to fatherhood.org, 25% of children live without a father in the home. 33% live wit

  • Make Room for God’s Presence // Jamie Nunnally

    29/01/2023 Duration: 40min

How can you experience God’s presence? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how we can make room for God’s presence in our lives. Make Room – you’re full of whatever you’ve been feeding on. If you want to be full of something different this year, you have to make room for it. You were made to be with God, and God wants to be with you. The key to experiencing God’s presence is awareness.Isaiah 6:3“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”Habakkuk 2:14 The whole earth is filled with the potential of God’s presence, but He is waiting for us to give Him our attention and tune to the right frequency. If you’ll look for God everywhere, you can find God anywhere. How to make room for God’s presence:Exodus 33:12-14 1. Invitation.Revelation 3:20“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”God has created the pathway to His presence—now you get to invite Him into your life. Exodus 3

  • Make Room For Service // Eric Robertson

    22/01/2023 Duration: 38min

Did you know that serving others is a vital aspect of how we grow spiritually? In this message, Pastor Eric Robertson shares how we can make room for this important part of our faith. Service is the act of helping others from a place of compassion in order to give glory to God. Compassion= Intention, Giving Glory to God = Purpose Service is an essential part of your spiritual growth but it often gets the least amountof attention. Worship, prayer, and bible study get talked about and implemented in most of our lives. But service is often viewed as extra or voluntary. The reason that we struggle to make room for service is because our hustle culture is holding our time hostage. Maybe you want to serve more but fell you don’t have time for it.  Maybe you are burned out or were hurt during past times of ministry.  Maybe you are lazy? Lacking time and motivation to serve the Lord indicates that you are lacking in your personal spiritual health. Service is a spiritual discipline. Service is a part of how we take ca

    15/01/2023 Duration: 36min

Do you have a close community or are you only connected? Knowing people and even having lots of “friends” does not mean that you have a community. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally teaches us how to make room for community in our lives. The key to changing what your full of is to change what you feed on. Christian Community is togetherness. It’s gathering around a common faith & shared values, and relying on one another for help, support and guidance—both naturally and spiritually. It’s doing life together. Surveys show that Americans are lonelier than ever.Don’t confuse community with connectivity. The connectivity of the digital age is convenient, but it is a counterfeit of true community.Don’t confuse community with being friendly.Don’t confuse community with assembly. In scripture, the word for community in Greek is koinonia - fellowship, association, sharing, joint participation, intimacy. Acts 2:42The invitation to follow Christ, is an invitation into community, because other people have been i

In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally encourages us to make the effort to grow up spiritually. Make Room – When you are full of one thing, you cannot be full of something else.  Spiritual maturity is the process of acting like, talking like, and looking like Jesus. The idea that we can accept Christ as our savior and not see any sort of change in our lives is not found in the Bible.  Ephesians 4:17-24 You will be tempted to think that since God loves you, you can live however youwant without consequence. But God wants to mature you because He loves you. The Purity Progression How to we mature spiritually?1. Practice Repentance.  Repentance is a change of mind, resulting in a change of direction.Acts 3:19 “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.”If you feel bad about your sin, but haven’t taken steps to address your sin, you have not repented.Matthew 4:17 “From then on Jesus be

    20/11/2022 Duration: 40min

Are you generous? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares two stories from scripture that can teach us valuable insights about handling resources. What is generosity?Generosity is when you live a life that’s open-handed with your resources so that you can bless others when the opportunity arises.Generosity assumes just because a resource COMES to me doesn’t mean it BELONGS to me.Greed assumes the opposite: This resource came TO me so it must be FOR me.Greed produces owners, generosity produces stewards. Generosity is importantGod uses our level of generosity to determine how much of His kingdom He can trust us with.Luke 16:10-12 “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. 11 And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? 12 And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your ow

    13/11/2022 Duration: 45min

Hospitality is often misunderstood. Hospitality is not having a perfectly decorated home where you serve gourmet food. In this message, Tiffany Nunnally shares the truth about biblical hospitality. What is biblical hospitality?Biblical hospitality is opening your home and your life to those you don’t already know, and serving them by providing food and fellowship, so you can positively influence their relationship with Jesus. Hospitality is commanded in scripture:Leviticus 19:33–34 ‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. 34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”1 Peter 4:9 “Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.” We show hospitality because God shows hospitality.Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. 06/11/2022 Duration: 41min

Feeling tired, worn out, or overwhelmed? God has a solution for that in His word - it's called the Sabbath! In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares God's plan for Sabbath rest. Most of us have little to no margin.Your margin is the difference between your current activity and maximum capacity. On a sheet of paper, a margin is an area of blank space where there is no activity before the edge. White space makes text readable. Margins make life livable.Psalm 90:12“God is nowhere” becomes “God is now here” when you add space. God’s design for rest:1. Deal with fear. It’s fear that moves us beyond our margins.John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”We fear missing out - Fear of missing out often leads to burning out.We fear falling behind - Don’t worry about keeping up with the Jones, they’re broke too.We fear that we are insignificant - Fear of not mattering has the potential to d

  • Eat Your Veggies, Part 3: Authenticity // Jamie Nunnally

    30/10/2022 Duration: 35min

What does it mean to be authentic and why is it so important for Christians to be real with one another? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares reasons you might struggle with authenticity and keys to experiencing the benefits authenticity.  It’s so easy to hide, because we know we’re all imperfect. God’s not looking for perfection, He’s looking for connection. What is authenticity?Authenticity is when your thoughts, your words, and your actions are all in agreement. Why aren’t we authentic?1. Guilt and shame. Guilt says “what I did was wrong,” shame says “who I am is wrong.”Genesis 3:7-10 “At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. 8When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees. 9Then the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid.

  • Eat Your Veggies, Part 2: Forgive // Jamie Nunnally

    23/10/2022 Duration: 44min

Fewer things impact your walk with the Lord more than forgiveness. The next "vegetable" we need to eat, even if we don't want to, is forgiveness. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally encourages us to live a life of forgiveness. Forgive:To forgive is to send away or to set free, with the understanding that we are to notpick up what God told us to put down.  Three things I want you to know about forgiveness:1. Forgiveness brings freedom.Physical health is about what you eat, but spiritual health is about what's eating you.You don’t forgive people for their benefit, you forgive people for your benefit.Matthew 18:23-35 - You won’t survive unforgiveness. It’s hard, but the pain you feel during the process of forgiving someone is nowhere near the pain you will feel if you hold on to the unforgiveness.2. Forgiveness is a two-sided coin: heads, I’m forgiven; tails, I forgive. Matthew 6:14-15 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to for
