The Bible has so much to say about faith: that it’s believing in things we can’t see and that’s an assurance of things for which we can only hope. But let’s face it, sometimes when we think we should have faith, we doubt instead. Are the two always mutually exclusive? Or can I doubt and still have faith?

The Bible makes some outrageous claims! From Creation, to the Great Flood, to the Plagues of Egypt to the Miracles of Jesus, it seems there are so many places where the Bible and science just don’t match up. Is it all really just a big allegory? Or are we meant to take the Bible at face value in every respect?

Jesus commands Christians to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves. Christians are called to imitate Jesus Christ in every way. And yet, it seems Christians can be more judgmental and less Christ-like than those who don’t claim to follow Jesus. Does this nullify the truth of Christianity?

If we look at the world around us, it’s apparent that it is a world filled with brokenness and suffering. But what does this mean about God? Is he a good God who has no control over our suffering? Is he a cold and distant God who, though in control, has little compassion for us? Or is there another, more complex way to look at this difficult problem?

Who was Jesus? Some say he was just a good man, a good teacher, or even a prophet. Others believe he is the Son of God. But what did he say about himself? And if he did say that he is God, why should we believe such a controversial claim?

When you relinquish control, you allow God to use you in ways that would never be possible without Him. Let's be a church that proclaims His name above all others, and invests in the spiritual and personal growth of our own souls. Let's be a church that makes sure everyone has a place to belong, and let's be a church that is generous with our resources beyond our wildest imaginations. Let's be Fully Engaged.
