Escaping from religion is one thing. Now that Brady and Chuck found not religion, what were they to do? They started a podcast. They preach to the ex-vangical choir, bringing on guests who help figure out how to navigate life after faith. Start with a base of a Christian upbringing, add a pinch of purity culture and a heaping helping of missionary work and baste it all with not believing any of that shit now and you’re getting an idea of Marie D’Elephant’s upbringing. I couldn’t go one episode without discussing the atheist Voldemort -- I kid, after all I can still say the name of David Silverman three times without summoning an army of MRAs. Rakeem is the host of The Outer Voices podcast, a show that just celebrated its 100th episode. We first heard Rakeem on an episode of No Religion Required when he talked about French Camp with Morgan Stringer. Rakeem is from Mississippi and moved to Brooklyn to go to law school. Condolences.
