Bases Loaded Baseball Show

The players may get an All Star break but not the lads on the Basesloaded podcast. Ep 14 sees Kevin, Tony & Gary take stock at the half way point of the MLB season. Among other guff they decide on their 'half way' Cy Young & MVP Awards, look at the seasons bust teams, discuss if Yasiel Puig is the monster he is made out to be, speculate on the Biogenesis suspensions & discuss the All Star game and the Home Run Derby. Episode 13 sees Kevin, Gary & Tony get together to discuss the latest standings across MLB. Andy our resident Blue Jays fans joins us from our our outside broadcast booth to sing the praises of the team currently bottom of AL East. The guys discuss among other things Japanese pitchers, The All Star Voting, Mike Trout, David Wright and Motorcycles and Pies. Kevin gets an unexpected knock at the door as some Antipodean guests arrive and is forced to ditch us so Tony acts as the set up man and Gary closes out the podcast and is credited with the save as another BasesLoaded podcast is put in the books.

Episode 12 finally sees Andy get the chance to give us the highlights of his recent trip to the USA and visits to MLB games in NYC, Washington, Philadelphia and Baltimore. There then follows a discussion on marathon extra innings games, the amateur draft (and nepotism), Any Pettite's HoF chances. Finally Kev & Gary argue about who thinks ARod is the biggest a-hole.

In this show Kevin, Tony and Gary chat about AL Central and dwell on the Indians and Tigers with speculation about the Royals. Kev talks some Yankees and tries to forget their four game sweep at the hands of the Mets. Gary is happy with things in Boston. The lads the discuss sausage rolls or is it rolls & sausage ? BJ Upton and the NL wild card race.

Another special guest; journalist, author, co-host, commentator, betting guru, lawyer, agent, father, husband, former ball player and all-around good guy Josh Chetwynd is interviewed about his life and times in the world of baseball.

In episode 9 Neal Smith ( @GrindingOut162 ) joins us to outline has incredible plans to follow his beloved Toronto Blue Jays around the USA / Canada for all 162 games of the 2014 season. The lads then discuss current topics from MLB including video challenges, bad umpiring, Bullpen useage, the dominance of pitching and bizarrely formula 1 racing.

Kevin, Gary and Andy are on hand to discuss the form of teams throughout baseball, specifically their own teams: the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. They also find time to preview Andy's trip to the states, where he will take in 5 games in 4 cities on the East Coast.

Many hearts were broken when Channel 5 pulled the plug on the live baseball broadcast in the UK. Here, we get the glorious opportunity to talk to the man who lived the dream of hosting the show - the one and only Mr Jonny Gould. Afterwards, we catch up on the latest events out of the Globetrotters division.

In Episode 6 Kevin, Andy, Mark & Gary (Tony is on a stint on the DL) get together to discuss current events in MLB. They discuss Jackie Robinson and his impact on the game and on USA society. They then look at the recent games and amongst other things the poor form by the Andy's Blue Jays and the Angels. A wee bit of a discussion about the battle on the mound in San Diego and the terrible call on Joe Nathan's 300 save. Kev looks forward to his holiday in the Balaerics and we look forward to getting rid of him. Enjoy.

In Episode five Kevin, Tony & Gary get together to discuss the first week of the 2013 MLB season. They look back at how their teams have fared and discuss among other topics the recent contract extensions, the almost perfecto, what is wrong with RA Dickey, Yankees injuries, more Yankees injuries....The guys were then joined by David Harper from the Metsbhoys Podcast to discuss goings on at Citi field (Harper gets to celebrate a walk off live on the show). Skype was behaving behaving badly during the show so apologies if things seem a little disjointed.

In Episode 4 the five guys give their long awaited predictions for the upcoming MLB season.Kev, Tony & Gary answer some listeners emails including a discussion on what is the better league National or American.Mark uses his usual betting insight regarding which teams to lose your money on.

We complete our preview shows for the 2013 season with a preview of the American League divisions. First we check out the big moves in the AL West, We then discuss the chances of the teams in the AL Central and we round it off with a quick look at the AL East.

In episode two we take a closer look at the National League, offering our thoughts ahead of the new season on which teams made the smart offseason moves and who has "no chance" in 2013.
