Psalm 17:1-5 1 Hear me, Lord, my plea is just;     listen to my cry. Hear my prayer—     it does not rise from deceitful lips. 2 Let my vindication come from you;     may your eyes see what is right. 3 Though you probe my heart,     though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil;     my mouth has not transgressed. 4 Though people tried to bribe me,     I have kept myself from the ways of the violent     through what your lips have commanded. 5 My steps have held to your paths;     my feet have not stumbled.

Psalm 118:1-7 1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;     his love endures forever. 2 Let Israel say:     “His love endures forever.” 3 Let the house of Aaron say:     “His love endures forever.” 4 Let those who fear the Lord say:     “His love endures forever.” 5 When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;     he brought me into a spacious place. 6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.     What can mere mortals do to me? 7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper.     I look in triumph on my enemies.

Psalm 116:6-11   6 The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. 7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. 8 For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, 9 that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living. 10 I trusted in the Lord when I said, “I am greatly afflicted”; 11 in my alarm I said, “Everyone is a liar."

John 17:20-26 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. 24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

    Psalm 2:7-12      7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son;     today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,     the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron;     you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;     be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear     and celebrate his rule with trembling. 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry     and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.     Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Psalms 107:1-9 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.   2 Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,   3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.   4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.   5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.   6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.   7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.   8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,   9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalm 91:9-16   9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Psalms 66:8-12   8 Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; 9 he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. 10 For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. 11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. 12 You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Psalm 101:1-8 1 I will sing of your love and justice;     to you, Lord, I will sing praise. 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life—     when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house     with a blameless heart. 3 I will not look with approval     on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do;     I will have no part in it. 4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me;     I will have nothing to do with what is evil. 5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret,     I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,     I will not tolerate. 6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,     that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless     will minister to me. 7 No one who practices deceit     will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely     will stand in my presence. 8 Every morning I will put to silence     all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer     from the city of the Lord.

Psalm 14:1-7 1 The fool says in his heart,     “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;     there is no one who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven     on all mankind to see if there are any who understand,     any who seek God. 3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;     there is no one who does good,     not even one. 4 Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread;     they never call on the Lord. 5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,     for God is present in the company of the righteous. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,     but the Lord is their refuge. 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!     When the Lord restores his people,     let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Psalm 1:1-6   1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.  3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Psalm 121:1-4 1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—     where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord,     the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip—     he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel     will neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalms 73:1-10 1 Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.  2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.  3 For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.  4 They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. 5 They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills.  6 Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.  7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity ; their evil imaginations have no limits.  8 They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression.  9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.  10 Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.

Psalm 22:1-5 1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?     Why are you so far from saving me,     so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,     by night, but I find no rest. 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;     you are the one Israel praises. 4 In you our ancestors put their trust;     they trusted and you delivered them. 5 To you they cried out and were saved;     in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

Psalm 29:1-11 1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!” 10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. 11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Psalm 130:1-5 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?  4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. 5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
