This week we continue to Question 4 of the Summa Theologica, which looks at the perfection of God followed by Questions 5 and 6 on Goodness. Fr. Luuk OP will continue with the perfection of God in combination. This will bring all kinds of side topics to the program as the relation of a perceivable corrupted world in relation to a perfect God, but also the role of our faith in our daily lives and how God can help us to make living life easier though his healing Grace. This week we start to move from Question 2 in the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas, which is on the existence of God, to Question 3, which starts to look at what we can know about God. Fr. Luuk OP will look at St. Thomas' approach in learning things about God. St. Thomas writes that thewre is two ways to know things about God, the first is revelation and the second through reason, or philisophy. Both these ways have come to the fore in the last two epsiodes by looking at how God releals himself to us and how we can reason about God's existence. Now we will look at some things we can know about God mainly through philosophy. Thomas Davenport OP how modern science connects with our faith. Bro. Thomas Davenport OP, having a PhD in physics from Stanford University, talks about the relation betweed Physics, Philosophy, modern science and the effect of for example the developing of Quantum Physics on our faith. This week we continue to Question 2 in the Summa Theologica written by Saint Thomas Aquians. Fr. Luuk Jansen OP talks with Fr. Conor McDonagh OP about the proofs for the existence of God. St. Thomas asks the question if we can proof that God exists, and gives various reasons how we can come to the conclusion that we can. One example is through what we see in the world and that it points to the fact that there has to be something that created everything. This and more in this weeks episode. The first 'question' in the Summa looks at some of the foundations of our journey to God. Why do we need God to reveal Himself? What is the role of theology, and how does it fit in with Philosophy and reason. These are some of the topics of this weeks dicussion. The Light of Truth will from this week forward take a little more of a structured approach by following the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas OP in order to discover more in depth various aspects of our faith. Fr. Luuk Jansen OP talks with Fr. John Harris OP about Saint Thomas as a theologian and the reason he wrote the Summa. There will also be a review on the structure of the work, and the fundamental role of God in the doing of Theology. It is not the intention to provide a commentary on the Summa in the program but rather to use the questions in the Summa to look at our faith and make it more relevant in our own lives by deepening our understanding of God. Luuk Jansen OP talks about the plan for the coming episodes which includes the anwsering of questions which can be send to lightoftruth@dominicans.ie. In the rest of the program the focus is on the start of Lent and lent as a time to refocus, as with the radio program, and to recommit to following Jesus and the Gospel message.

This week in the Light of Truth Fr. Luuk Jansen OP talks with bro. Philip Mulryne OP about Marian apparitions. The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes is coming up on the 11th of February, so this week the Light of Truth looks at the apparitions of Our Lady in Lourdes to St. Bernadette. During the conversation other Marian apparitions are also discussed such as n Fatima and the apparition in Knock, Ireland.
