Aw Yeah Podcast With Art & Franco

Fresh from the activity of Free Comic Book Day the guys talk about all the doings at Aw Yeah Comics grand opening. Yoko Chips has found crazy old kids records that were adaptations ogf the Planet Of The Apes films. Artie was honored by his former college as an Outstanding Alumnus and hasn't taken his sash off since the ceremony. Franco was shocked to learn that the tanning woman's news story has gone beyond it's New Jersey beginnings , which leads to a whole discussion of other currrent event stories.

Cartoonist Jamie Cosley joins the guys, while Yoko Chips puts his Clark Kent glasses to use and tries to hunt down a news story. Jamie brought his guitar and sings while he talks about his characters and old times with Art & Franco.Then Dr Zauis and Garry Marshall show up half way into the show to enjoy some new calls from the hotline, including several from Haas.

The guys are still buzzing over their C2E2 experiences. Yoko got rolled for his iPhone, and nearly lost his life at the hands of WWF wrestler Virgil Art and Franco talk about fellow creator encnounters, meeting Shia Labouf and their artist alley line being longer than Val Kilmer's (true story) . Finally Garry Marshall shows up with a bunch of movie and TV pitches, and explains why Corky from Life Goes On can generate dozens of good story ideas.

The boys hold court from last weekend's C2E2. We get audience questions, a Live Mike Norton moment, Dan DiDio does an inpromptu DC Nation filled with misinformation, Garry Marshall casts a Planet Of The Apes film, Dr Zauis shows up to answer questions, and we wrap things up with a sing a long with Art close.

Dad confessed a secret life to his 5 yr old son.In technology News Yoko Chips has updated his not so smart phone and Artie and Franco share adventures with their kids and iPods .Poor Franco is suffering from Cabin Fever as workers continue to remodel stately Franco Manor.We talk about reality shows we've been watching. Then we start our voice impressions of some comic book celebs.We wrap up with a look at one comic creator's strange message board post, possibly givng us his own expiration date?

On Friday January 13th Art had a gallery show at Challengers Comics Rouges Gallery in Chicago. We talked about art's preperation for the show until Franco lost his net service for the night . 2012 FINDS ONE OF OUR HOSTS HURTING. AS YOKO CHIPS MONTHS LONG COUGH FINALLY GOES AWATY, ARTIE HAS AN INFECTION THAT HURTS SO BAD HE'S BEGUN OVERDOSING ON NYQUIL TO SELF-INDUCE A COMA. HILARITY ENSUES.

Back from a long working break, Art & Franco reveal the big news! Tiny Titans will be wrapping up its run with issue 50, then Art and Franco will be the creative team behind the new Superman Family Adventures! New stories old and new characters all exciting stuff. Art spent some time on jury duty, and tells us about his adventures at THE HALL OF JUSTICE . Johnny hates the new Garry Marshall love- comedy, NEW YEARS EVE and Franco's been laughing at some internet videos . 

This is a cross over with another Chicago Based Podcast, The Comics Slumber Party. CSB host Wendi Freeman called and asked Yoko Chips to come on and talk about Jack Kirby, but Yoko missed his teammates and invited Art & Franco to join in. The result? Madness, in the aw yeah tradition. We all sound like we're coming out of a phone speaker, like John Forsyth  on Charlie's Angels, but it all works out. 

Bouncing back after a hectic post NY comic con break, the boys are back with NYCC and halloween stories. We talk about the small hotel room shared by 4 of our heroes, including Chris "General Zod" Smitts, and Jimmy "The Biscutt Floating" Muscle . Zod joins us to talk about or New York adventures, which include Franco's big sale of Silver Age comics to Mick Jagger (he'll explain) plus Artie has a close encounter of The Ape Kind with POTA stars Linda "Nova" Harrison and Don "The Atomic Mutant" Pedro Colley 

It always hurts when you're rejected, and Franco knows. He still has a mighty stack of rejection letters from comic book publishers from the 90s. He and Art pour over them. Then we hit the mailbag fr the show, and a new segment debuts...Ask Dr Zaius!
