Paul talks about Titus and Trophimus. These two men were sent to take care of the offering. They were accountable for the offering.

Paul is talking about equality in the church. Equality was very important in the early church. It is important today. We must share with each other.

The process of giving. First, a desire to give, second the faithfulness to complete it, third the ability.

Paul is not commanding the Corinthians to give. That would violate the Word of God. But he is proving their love by giving them the opportunity to give. Jesus is our example of a great giver.

The Apostle Paul calls giving a gracious work or ministry. This shows us the importance of giving. It is a ministry that all believers should be doing. Paul wants us to excel in that ministry.

Paul gives us two essential things that need to be a part of our lives for us to give like the Macedonians. First a complete surrender to the Lord. Second, that we give ourselves to the one taking the offering. Trust is a very big part in giving.

The Macedonians begged Paul to participate in the this offering to the saints in Jerusalem. They gave according to their ability and beyond their ability. They gave of their with one will or accord.

Paul begins his teaching on giving. Giving is an act of the grace of God. The Macedonian churches gave liberally even though they we deeply poor.

Paul spoke the truth to the Corinthians. He also boasted about the Corinthians to Titus. Titus received not only joy and comfort but also his heart was filled with affection toward the Corinthians

We see in these verse what happens to a church that repents. It becomes a place of joy and a place comfort.

The fruit of repentance is Godly fear, longing or a vehement desire, and veal for God.

The fruit of repentance. In this podcast we look at what earnestness is, what vindication is and what indignation is that is a fruit of repentance.

Godly sorrow produces repentance. Repentance gives us a choice. When we choose think God's way we receive salvation. This salvation is total and complete. Worldly sorrow or condemnation produces death.

In these verses we see Paul's deep concern for the Corinthians and how Titus brings him words of encouragement that cause him joy

The promises of God draw us back to an open heart and affections not only for Jesus but also for His people. Our commitment to each other is until death.

Paul tells the Corinthians that they need to use the promises of God to cleanse themselves. The promise give us a new identity

Paul asks questions to get the Corinthians to know that they are different than unbelievers.

Paul tells us what has taken the affections of the Corinthians hearts. That is close relationship with unbelievers

Paul gives us an excellent example of his relationship with the Corinthians. He has opened his heart but they have not opened their hearts.
