The reason we have been brought near is that Jesus make peace with us. He has made two groups, the Jews and Gentiles, one in Him

In this verse Paul gives us great news. We who were far away from God have been brought near.

Paul reminds of two things that we must remember. Both are conditions of our state before Christ.

God is working in us because we are in Christ. The results of His work in us is seen by good works coming from us.

Salvation is the gift offered to us because of God's kindness and grace. Faith is the way we receive it. Salvation is total and complete spirit, soul and body.

God raised us up and seated us with Christ in heavenly place so He could show the world His grace.

God has intervened in our lives. He has made us alive. He did this because He loves us so much.

We lived in the lust of our flesh. We were children of wrath. We were enslaved to the lust of our flesh and minds.

Paul brings us back to our former lives. We were dead because of trespasses and sin. We were bounded to this world, the devil and spirits of disobedience.

In these verse we understand why we have authority in Christ. It comes from where he is seated.

We have all these things mentioned in verse 18 and 19 because we are in Christ and He is seated at the right hand of God

Paul prays that the Ephesians would know the greatness of God's power for them.

Paul prays that they eyes of the heart of the Ephesians would see the hope of His calling and the glorious inheritance in the saints.

Paul prays that we have the spirit of wisdom and knowledge of God.

Paul reveals his prayer for the Ephesians. He prays because he heard of their faith and love.

The Holy Spirit is the earnest that God put down on His will for our lives. It will remain there until we receive our full inheritance in heaven.

Believing in the promises of God's inheritance brings praise to God. We have been sealed by the Holy Spirit. We belong to God and God protects us.

God has preplanned that we who are in Christ would share in His Inheritance. This is set and will not be changed. Believe it!

God's plan will happen when time is complete. Everything will come under the Lordship of Christ.

God is making His will known to us everyday. He is not trying to hide things from us. These things that He reveals come from His kind intentions.
