Paul's prayer for the Colossians is conditioned in that he prays because he has heard of their love. He asks for the knowledge of God's will and spiritual wisdom in understanding.

The Gospel is the grace of God in truth. It is the Good News. Paul taught Epaphras, Epaphras taught the Colossians and it goes on and on.

The Gospel is powerful. It produces fruit and increases all around the world. There is not a situation or country where the Gospel can produce fruit.

Hope is powerful. It causes faith to be spoken and loves to be shown. Hope is on lay away in heaven for every believer.

There are 4 ways of learning. Learning, receiving hearing and seeing. These are all needed in discipleship. But these things need to be practiced to do any good.

Paul continues his list of things to set our minds on. Things that are pure, lovely, good repute. Things that are excellent in character and things that God will praise us for.

The peace of God comes when we pray in faith. This peace is greater than our circumstances. It goes beyond our human reasoning. It guards our hearts and minds.

Do not be solicited you away from what is important by worry. But pray and if needed pray earnestly along with thanksgiving. Let God know what is concerning you.

Gentleness means having an desire to corporate. This is needed today. The world needs to see a genuine gentleness. Why? The Lord is near.
