Morning Manna

What a treasure is God's Word to us! Proverbs 7:1 says, “My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you.” Let's talk about this incredible treasure on today's Morning Manna.

1 Samuel 22:2 - “And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.” While this verse speaks of King David, let us today bring our challenges to King Jesus.

Galatians 5:22–23 says this... “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Let's talk about this fruit in today's Morning Manna.

Today is Memorial Day in the US. It's a day that we honor those who gave their lives for our country. Today I honor two of my classmates in my graduating class at Miami Norland Senior High who gave it all. Today's verse of the day says this... Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. That's our mission today.

1 Samuel 16:7 says this... “But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’” It's not just your size and skills... it's your heart. I start out everyday opening up the YouVersion Bible app and looking at the verse of the day. It gives me direction and guidance. It corrects and admonishes me as well. In today's episode I want to read not only the verse of the day, but other verses in Colossians chapter 3. Let's be on mission today!

Proverbs 16:25 says this... “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” We make choices everyday in life. Let's make sure that our choices line up with God's Word and His will for our lives.

Proverbs 28:13 says this... “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” What might you be covering up today? Do you want to prosper and experience His mercy? Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

I love what we read in Exodus 40:38: “For the cloud of the LORD was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.” Just as Israel had a covering... so do we. Jesus said; "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Let's live under that covering today... looking to Him.

I love the story of young Samuel - “Therefore Eli said to Samuel, ‘Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, “Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.”’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ And Samuel answered, ‘Speak, for Your servant hears.'” Open your ears to Him today.

God is our Rock and so much more. Listen to this... 2 Samuel 22:2–4: “And he said: ‘The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; the God of my strength, in whom I will trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. Jobe 13:15 says this... "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." Whatever you and I are facing today that could be challenging or even discouraging... yet whatever... we will choose to trust Him today. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.
