A Tuesday Filibuster for your listening pleasure! Adam, Jason, and Ben talk about D.C. United's historic 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact, and we have to start with Bill Hamid. We then ask whether or not we were happy with this game, despite the win, ask if anything changed when Conor Doyle came on the field for Nick DeLeon, and discuss what should be the forward pairing against New York City FC given what happened against Montreal. We then welcome on Rafael Noboa y Rivera from SB Nation's NYCFC site Hudson River Blue. We start by asking him about Tommy McNamara, who was cruelly stolen from D.C. United in the expansion draft. We ask him who has been the best player in light blue so far this year, the team's deficienies, how bad Mix Diskerud has been this year, and how Frank Lampard is the team's original sin. We close by asking him about the leaky back four. Give it a listen!

Rejoice because Filibuster is back to meet your ears on this Wednesday morning. Adam, Jason, and Ben are here to talk about what is going on with D.C. United these past two games, their comebacks from 2-0 down in both, and Taylor Kemp's ridiculous goal. Then we have to talk about what is wrong with the defense, and we specifically talk about Perry Kitchen and Steve Birnbaum. We then get into a news roundup! We talk about Populous being selected as the architect for the D.C. United stadium, talk about Andy Najar possibly being sold and what they would mean for United, and some disappointing news about United's academy. We breakdown D.C. United's upcoming game the Montreal Impact, and talk about Didier Drogba and the fixture congestion that Montreal is currently facing. We end the show by answering some of your Twitterbox questions. Adam, Jason, and Ben are back with an extra-long edition of Filibuster! We start off by talk about D.C. United's comeback victory over the Philadelphia Union. We talk about how impressive the comeback was, how they managed it, and the key play of Nick Deleon, Perry Kitchen, and Alvaro Saborio. We then have to talk about the first 188 seconds of the game, and we ponder why United has to come from behind so often this season. We then talk about the United States' disappointing showing in the Gold Cup. We talk about how losing in the semi-finals is not okey, despite the fact that other teams in Concacaf are getting better, and then go full-in on Jurgen Klinsmann: his lineup choices and his roster choices. We end with a twitterbox question and name some players we would probably include instead. Finally, we welcome on Brian Dunseth to talk about D.C. United's weekend game against Real Salt Lake. We talk about Jeff Cassar's 4-3-3 versus Jason Kreis' diamond, the Luis Silva trade, how Javier Morales is ageless, the

It is a Tuesday, so that must mean that it is time for Filibuster to come back into your ears. We don't even let the fact that we've sent Adam on assignment prevent us from calling him while he's on vacation and making him talk about soccer. We start with the loss to FC Dallas: we talk about what we liked and didn't like from the defense as well as the great performance Andrew Dykstra put in. We then wonder what happened for each time at halftime, and then talk for awhile about Facundo Coria making us very, very sad. We then move on to preview D.C. United's first home game in years, when they take on the Philadelphia Union this Sunday on national TV. We wonder if the Union will try and do the same thing they did in the Open Cup, how Alvaro Saborio will fit in for United, and the fact that the Union have a midweek game. We end by talking USMNT and the Gold Cup, and mostly wonder if there is anything we can learn from the Cuba game. Give it a listen!

Filibuster is back, and Ben, Jason, and Adam are joined by a very special guest: Sebastian Salazar from Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic! We start off by talking about the Gold Cup, even though we recorded before last night's 1-1 draw between the United States and Panama. We talk about what's wrong with the USMNT, ask whether or not they are sandbagging like the USWNT, and talk about Michael Bradley as a number 10. We also ponder whether or not there is a chance Perry Kitchen gets called in to replace Kyle Beckerman. Since Sebastian is here, we then had to ask him about Mexico. We let him explain what's wrong with the Mexico national team and ask whether there is anyone in their current pool who could help D.C. United. We finish with D.C. United against FC Dallas this weekend. We talk about whether or not United can shut down Mauro Diaz, how they can deal with Fabian Castillo, and ask where the creativity will come from since Fabian Espindola is suspended. We wrap up by flinging praise and Andrew Dykstra and St

A late-in-the-week edition of Filibuster is here, but we would never leave you completely hanging. Jason, Adam, and Ben are back, and Adam starts off the episode with a rant about a certain new team down in Atlanta. We then move onto happier things, talking about the USWNT's 5-2 victory over Japan to win the 2015 World Cup. We talk about the brilliance of Carli Lloyd, praise Jill Ellis, talk about how Morgan Brian adapted to the new USWNT system, and talk about the rest of the defense and specifically Becky Sauerbrunn. We then have to move onto D.C. United and their two losses to the Philadelphia Union and the Seattle Sounders. We talk about the differences between the two games, and the play of Fabian Espindola. Hint: we're not happy with him. We finish up our MLS talk by mentioning a new funding source: Targeted Allocation Money. The USMNT is next on the list, with their opening match against Honduras now in the books. We talk about the men's team overall, how the diamond didn't work in this game, Timmy Cha

Since there is ever so much soccer, its a Filibuster on a Monday! We start by reminicing about howl long it has been since we recorded on a Sunday (miss you, Martin), before getting into the meat of the podcast. D.C. United actually played Chicago last week, and we talk about Conor Doyle's golazo and the formation that the team employed in that game. We also talk about the draw against Toronto FC, and start off with the stellar performance of Steve Birnbaum in that game. We then talk about the defense overall and how impressed we were by them and how they did not give up a goal against one of the highest-priced attacks in the league. Finally, we talk about how TFC didn't really create many chances, despite the popular narrative that they dominated the game. We move onto tomorrow's game against the Philadelphia Union in the US Open Cup, and how the Union have been burning up their starters in the league. We argue that they should concentrate on the Open Cup, because they have a better chance at pulling a 2013

It is an extra-long episode of Filibuster today, both because there is so much soccer to talk about and because Adam has abandoned us for fairer climes. Jason, Ben, and Leanne press onwards, opening the show talking about D.C. United's 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the US Open Cup. We talk about how, despite leaving the game a little late, it is still a good win, as well as talking about Jalen Robinson specifically and what we want to see from him going forward. We then move onto D.C. United's 2-1 comeback victory over the New England Revolution. We talk about how the beginning of the game wasn't great, and then break down Fabian Espindola's role, whether it be goal scorer or provider. With a curse to the MLS schedule makers, we then move onto tonight's game against the Chicago Fire, and talk about Mike Magee, what worries about the Fire but why in the end United should beat them (because they're not very good right now). For the last MLS game of the week, we wrap up by talking about the Toro

When you wish upon a star, makes no difference where you are, any Filibuster your heart desires, will come to you! Filibuster is back on its regularly scheduled Tuesday delivery time, and Adam, Jason, and Ben have some soccer talk for you. We start off with D.C. United's loss to Orlando City, and we have to talk about the state of United's attack. We also talk about where Chris Rolfe can be most effective, the play of Chris Korb and Taylor Kemp, and the larger width issue that they bring and that is also up the field. We then talk about tomorrow night's US Open Cup between D.C. United and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. We talk about its streaming, how they're scoring (and giving up) tons of goals, and what lineup we expect to see. We then move onto Sunday's game against the New England Revolution, talking about their season so far. We talk about their (sometimes) potent attack and how United can keep from failing against them. Finally, we talk about the Women's World Cup and the USWNT. We talk about how awesome

Ben has returned from Brazil, and so is back with Jason and Adam to bring you Filibuster on this lovely Wednesday. We start off talking about D.C. United's record playing during World Cups, which is not very good in recent memory. We then try and assign some blame on the game winning goal, talk about how Toronto played 2 games when D.C. United played five in the same span, what United can do about its tired squad going forward, and we bring up Jalen Robinson and his time with the US U-23s. We then have to talk about the newest D.C. United stadium news, and are happy that they're going to Buzzard Point (even though Ben is sad he's defending corporations). We then move onto this weekend's game against Orlando City Soccer Club, and open by wondering what position Brek Shea will play. We talk about how awesome Cyle Larin is, how much we still hate Orlando City, and how we get the season sweep from them. We end by talking about the USA's first game in the Women's World Cup, their play and why they should be better

Despite some technical difficulties last night and the fact that Ben is editing this episode from Brazil, neither snow nor rain nor humidity nor Fiyur could stop this podcast from getting to you. Adam, Jason, and Leanne are here to talk you through the metric crapton of MLS games that D.C. United has played and that D.C. United will play (and probably games that United is currently playing as you listen). But before any of that, we talk about the epic bombshells of news that have been dropping, starting with D.C. United's draw for the Concacaf Champions League. We also have to talk about the leak that D.C. United could be talking to Virginia about possibly building a stadium in Loudoun County or Woodbridge. Finally, of course, we have to talk about the FIFA corruption scandal that broke last Wednesday, the re-election of Sepp Blatter on Friday, and then the resignation of Sepp Blatter yesterday. We talk quickly about the loss to the Portland Timbers, which feels like a year ago now, as well as the victory aga

Another day, another Filibuster for your listening pleasure. Jason, Adam, and Ben are back to talk about D.C. United versus the New England Revolution and we start be spending too much time on how obvious the red cards were. We then move onto what bothered us most about that game, the (lone?) standout play of Facundo Coria, our annoyance at the goal celebration, and Ben Olsen's subs and the positional battles they foretell. We then talk about tonight's game against the Portland Timbers. We talk about Portland missing Diego Valeri, and how the Timbers will play in this game. Finally, we move onto the weekend game against the Philadelphia Union. We have a meetup before that game that you should come to! We ask how United can avoid another disappointment against the Union, while also discussing some NEW silliness with their goalkeeping situation. Give it a listen!

And now here comes the 131st edition of Filibuster to please your ears on this fine Wednesday. Adam, Jason, and Ben look back at the week that was, and start off by talking about how slow D.C. United looked against the Philadelphia Union and asking whether or not they should just burn the tape of the game and move on. We also talk about the right side of D.C. United's attack, Chris Rolfe and Miguel Aguilar, and Ben Olsen's substitutions in each game. We end the look-back by talking about filling out the various positions with the further injuries the team has, with a special focus on Davy Arnaud. We then talk about the upcoming game against Matt Reis' New England Revolution. We are happy for Charlie Davies even though he isn't here anymore, we talk about the Revs pressing and attack, and we break down how you can get three points against them. Finally, we crack open the Twitterbox and answer your questions! We mention our meetup that is happening in a week and a half, talk about Luis Silva's injury, and discu

D.C. United have three matches in eight days, so there is plenty to talk about on the newest episode of Filibuster! Adam, Jason, and Ben start off by talking about D.C. United's 1-1 draw against Sporting Kansas City and how it is disappointing to drop points at home, even against good teams. We then talk about Michael Farfan and Nick DeLeon, Chris Korb and Taylor Kemp, Luis Silva, and the massive amount of squad rotation and competition that is going to take hold in May. We then talk about United's midweek game against Orlando City and try and diagnose why the Lions aren't scoring any goals. We also talk about their young Canadian starlet, Cyle Larin, their gameplan and how to stop it, and then talk about current Lion and former Union player Amobi Okugo. Speaking of the Philadelphia Union, they are a bad soccer team right now. We talk about whether or not we see Jim Curtin or Nick Sakiewicz getting fired this year, their 345 goalkeepers this season, and how to best extract three points from them this Sunday.

Another Tuesday means another great episode from your friends at Filibuster! Ben, Adam, and Jason talk about D.C. United's 2-0 win over Columbus Crew SC and ask whether or not this is the way that Bennyball is supposed to work? We break down Crew Sc's tactics in this game, the Chris Rolfe and Fabian Espindola goal, the squad rotation that will be necessary throughout May and June, and Sean Franklin's set piece goal. After disposing of the Crew, we have to talk about Bill Hamid's extension and what it means for D.C. United. Finally, we talk about this weekend's game against Sporting Kansas City and have to start with whatever is going on with Benny Feilhaber's hair. We then move into more on-the-field matters, asking what is the story with the Sporks this year and what United should do against them to take advantage. We end by talking about Dom Dwyer and what United should do to gameplan the Sporks. Give it a listen! And finally, we're having a Black and Red United meetup on May 30. You can find all the detail

United's 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps. We discuss the team's overall performance, the return of Fabian Espindola, D.C. United's formation options going forward, the success of the team and their popular perception around the league, and the coming logjam in midfield. We then preview the upcoming match against the Columbus Crew and start with their overall performance this season, which may not be as impressive as everyone is making it out to be. We then dive into their style of play this year versus last, teams getting into the heads of other teams, whether or not Gregg Berhalter is a supervillain, and what formation United should play. We end the show by breaking open the Twitterbox to talk about D.C. United's 745 games coming up in May. Give it a listen!

It is Tuesday, and that means that it is Filibuster time! Jason, Ben, and Adam review D.C. United's tie against the Houston Dynamo and wonder if giving up leads is becoming a trend and whether or not we need to worry about it. We then ask whether or not Houston actually outplayed United like the mainstream media says they did, the lack of confidence shown by D.C. United's forwards, and the team's overall play. We then break down Ricardo Clark's goal and pass around some blame, before talking about the context of D.C. United's 11 points thus far this season. We then bring on Jon Szerkes of 86 Forever, SB Nation's Vancouver Whitecaps blog, to talk about United's trip to the Pacific Northwest. We ask what has changed since their opening loss to Toronto FC, their most recent game against Real Salt Lake, and their current formation. We then get into VWFC's shaky defense as a whole and Jordan Harvey and Sam Adekube in particular, Matias Laba and his importance to the team, and end by asking how United should gamepl

We talk about Perry Kitchen's overall performance, what he and Davy Arnaud did differently in this game versus the game in Red Bull Arena, the two set piece goals that United gave up late, Kori Opare's role in those goals specifically, and we look at the differences between New York and United's set piece strategy. We then talk about United's upcoming match against the Houston Dynamo, talk about the strange season that they have had so far, what effect Owen Coyle has had on the team, and their most recent win against the Montreal Impact. Finally, we open the Twitterbox and answer your questions about Miguel Aguilar and what Jairo Arrieta's role will be when Fabian Espindola comes back. Give it a listen!
