  • Episode 11: "This podcast left intentionally blank"

    16/07/2016 Duration: 02h45min

It's all-star week here on For All You Kids Out There (and we imagine elsewhere in the baseball world as well), so you'd think there wouldn't be much to talk about. You might be new here, it's only Episode 11 after all, so we assure you, there is always too much to talk about on For All You Kids Out There. Jeffrey and Jarrett talk about the trade market for starting pitching on the heels of the Drew Pomeranz deal, and what that might mean for the Mets quest for more arms. Next, Jarrett wants to talk about Yuliesky Gurriel signing with not-the-Mets for some reason, even though Jeffrey knew exactly how this was going to play out. Then we wrap up the first half with a chat about Wilmer Flores' future and Giancarlo Stanton hitting a lot of dingers. In the second half of the show, we are joined by Craig Goldstein, Minor League Editor at Baseball Prospectus, to discuss our midseason top 50 prospect list, and, uh, the other list we published this week. In the third half of the show, we answer your correspondence, dis

  • Episode 10: "Valar Thorghulis"

    10/07/2016 Duration: 02h28min

In Episode 10 Jeffrey issues a mea culpa to the Pirates before Jarrett and he dive into one last baseball-related This Week in Matt Harvey for 2016. There's more bad news on the starting pitching front as well, so we discuss if the Mets should be buying starting pitching at the deadline and what a deal might look like. One starting pitcher who we imagine is available is Wade LeBlanc, but that isn't why we are talking about him with Vice Sports' David Roth. We never need an excuse to talk about Wade LeBlanc with David. We also touch on Moby Dick, Daniel Murphy as Mike Trout, and how expensive game-used jerseys are. At some point the 2005 Binghamton Mets roster gets b-ref'd, but at this moment we don't remember why. In the third half of the show, we have new lists, a new prospect list, your correspondence, and some Brock Lesnar chat. This one is almost as long as Mellville's tome, and features a narrative only slightly more under the author's control.

  • Episode 9: "Big Spur, Little Spur"

    04/07/2016 Duration: 02h25min

In Episode 9 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett tackle the most prominent issue in Metsland: that ridiculous Cespedes third tank home run. Okay, it's all downhill from there, but man that was a lot of fun. We discuss balky elbows, the wild card race, and soft selling before welcoming on Kate Morrison and Russell Carlton to talk about major league front offices and Saving America's Pastime. Then we revisit potential Mets All-Stars, investigate the curious case of Seth Lugo, get way off topic with a look at recent goings-on in the NYC baseball media, and wrap things up talking Nick Williams and false hustle.

  • Episode 8: "This is fine dot jpeg"

    26/06/2016 Duration: 02h14min

It feels like it has been weeks since our last episode, so there is a lot of ground to cover in Episode 8. We start with a discussion of new Met, Jose Reyes, before moving on to happier topics, like the Mets plethora of arm issues. We also talk about Michael Conforto being optioned for Brandon Nimmo before delving in deeper on Reyes with Sports Illustrated's Emma Span. Then it is time for your e-mails, some well-earned praise for Hansel Robles, a long digression on the 2016 Brooklyn Cyclones, and finally some pro wrestling and PED chat.

  • Episode 7: "And we're waiting here in Allentown"

    19/06/2016 Duration: 01h47min

Saturday is usually the day Jeffrey and Jarrett make their notes for the show. Instead, they recorded in a hotel room in Bethlehem, PA between games in a split International League doubleheader. On the plus side, this is the shortest episode yet, on the minus side, it is still as disorganized and bogged down in pro wrestling talk as usual. In the first half of the show we discuss Noah Syndergaard's continued maturation into an ace generally, and his usage in the Pirates game specifically. We then chat about Travis d'Arnaud's short term future with the Mets, and go in-depth on Jarrett's BP Mets article last week on Jacob deGrom. Next, the BP Mets big boss Bryan Grosnick joins the show to talk David Wright and potential future third basemen for the Metropolitans. Finally we wrap things up with two(!) lists (one David Wright, one pro wrestling), and kibitz about Triple-A baseball.

  • Episode 6: "New draft, who dis?"

    13/06/2016 Duration: 02h10min

Jeffrey and Jarrett talk the Mets floundering offense, curious closer, recent draft with Alex Nelson of Amazin' Avenue, and then Jarrett talks about Japanese Pro Wrestling for the last twenty minutes until even Jeffrey completely checks out of the show.

  • Episode 5: "We are just, we are just, we are just teens of style"

    06/06/2016 Duration: 02h48min

In Episode 5 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett debate the Mets infield alignment, check in on This Week in Matt Harvey, talk Mets prospects past, present, and future with Toby Hyde, and spend way too much time on Gilmore Girls and the UFC. This is probably an overly pithy summary of another three hour podcast, but it is getting late.

  • Episode 4: "Too Many Kates (Too Many Kates)"

    30/05/2016 Duration: 02h47min

In Episode 4 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett had their agenda thrown into disarray with the Mets acquisition of James Loney. So we bring on Kate Feldman, Tampa Bay Rays expert, to discuss the new first baseman, and some old first baseman as well. We also chat about Matt Harvey, again, and tanking baseball teams. Next, Kate Morrison of BP and WFAA joins the show to talk about the new Texas stadium and their bumper crop of prospects. Finally we wrap things up with Jeffrey's five favorite Mets, Jarrett's five favorite pitches, and some babbling about Chase Utley and pro wrestling before our skype connection mercifully cuts out.

  • Episode 3: "The Court of Owls"

    22/05/2016 Duration: 01h59min

In Episode 3 of For All You Kids Out There, the BP Mets podcast, Jeffrey and Jarrett have a reasonable, sobering (but not sober) discussion about what ails Matt Harvey. Is it just a matter of physician, heal thyself, or does he need an, uh, actual physician. Fortunately the Mets bullpen has been good even as the starting pitching has underperformed a bit, but Jeffrey isn't convinced this is going to last. Next, we chat with Erik Malinowski about recent Bartolo Colon news and recent David Wright walkoffs, Finally we wrap things up with your missives and a long discussion about David Ortiz and the Hall of Fame, because Jeffrey stupidly got Jarrett wound up about Mike Mussina.

  • Episode 2: "Half-way Between Misery and the Sun"

    18/05/2016 Duration: 02h06min

Normally 33% shorter wouldn't be a selling point, but when your first episode was three hours, it might be? In Episode 2, Jarrett and Jeffrey discuss how much to read into a bad road trip, how much Noah Syndergaard makes it move, and how much Eric Campbell we'll be seeing in the coming weeks. Next Corinne Landrey of Crashburn Alley and The Hardball Times joins the show to talk about the second place (?!) Phillies and if any of this is remotely sustainable. Then we answer your e-mails and introduce a fun game called "How Well Do You Know Your Co-host" before wrapping up with the likely soon to be de riguer wrestling and soccer talk.

  • Episode 1: "What Kind of Month Has It Been"

    08/05/2016 Duration: 03h02min

It's the first episode of For All You Kids Out There, a baseball podcast from BP Mets. Hosts Jeffrey Paternostro and Jarrett Seidler talk about the first month of Mets baseball. Jarrett breaks down Noah Syndergaard, Jeffrey yells about dingers, David Roth of Vice Sports joins the show to talk about Bartolo, and much, much, (too much) more.
