The Dodgers acquired catcher Carlos Ruiz from the Phillies and got rid of their own catcher, AJ Ellis in the deal. Ellis and ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw had quite the history together, making this move a little odd. The guys break it down, and talk about the impact it could have on the team. Then they switch gears, and talked about the Arizona Diamondbacks and the swirling rumors around their front office. Both guys feel that change may be in order, but having a plan and sticking to it is best for the long-term future of the D-Backs. Luckily for you, both guys are back this week to breakdown everything that happened, and talk about the aftermath of the frenzy that is the MLB trade deadline. Chris had to delay the recording of the show on Tuesday, and it ended up being a good thing he did. A bunch of major news and rumors came out on Wednesday, all of which would have made a Tuesday show very outdated. The Cubs made their first move of the trade season, and it wasn't for Andrew Miller or Aroldis Chapman. Instead, they acquired Mike Montgomery from the Mariners as part of a 4-player deal that sent hitting prospect Dan Vogelbach back to Seattle. The guys talk about that, and the chances that the Cubs are still in play for Miller/Chapman.  It was very rainy over Dodgers Stadium in terms of bad news, with Alex Wood being down for the next eight weeks after a procedure on his elbow. It got worse when news broke that ace Clayton Kershaw could need back surgery, putting the rest of his season in question. Banned pitcher Jenrry Mejia is planning on suing MLB and during a press conference today plans to reveal years of 'corrupt, mob-like activity' inside major league baseball. It is certainly a story that both guys are keeping their eyes on.
