Manga Mavericks @ Movies continues our coverage of TMS’s newly-dubbed releases of Detective Conan movies by going back to the beginning - literally! That’s right, we’re covering Detective Conan Episode “One” - the 20th-anniversary anime special remaking the show’s first episode! This special was the first Detective Conan movie released on home video in the US in nearly a decade, and the first chance most people got to experience the new dub cast TMS has assembled for the series! This is also actually the first podcast covering these new dubbed Detective Conan movies we did; we recorded this when the special came out last July, but didn’t get around to editing it until recently. But with Detective Conan’s 1000th episode right around the corner, now’s the perfect time to release this podcast and revisit this retelling! Joining us are none other than the curators of the Weekly Shogakukan Edition Twitter and blog, Sakaki and Jecka! Together we share our thoughts on the new dub, including our favorite new voices

Hello, darlings! Welcome back to #LumSquad, a podcast hosted by @LumRanmaYasha and @ProdTally devoted to the wonderful and wacky world of Rumiko Takahashi’s Urusei Yatsura! We went back on an unexpected hiatus again last year, but hey, Viz’s second attempt to release UY in the 90s also unceremoniously stopped too. As they say, the third time’s the charm, and at least we’ve come back for our third try much faster than they did! Much like Viz’s regular releases of the series, we’re dedicated to resuming regular episodes of this podcast, which in our case will be monthly releases on the last friday of every month from here on out! We’ve already got some episodes banked and planned, and with more manga coming out and Discotek bringing the movies out later this year, there’ll always be plenty to talk about! Our Dreams at Dusk is a beautiful manga that explores characters across the LGBTQ+ spectrum in different phases of their life, struggling to be accepted for being themselves, and finding a community and support network in one another. It made waves when Seven Seas released it in English last year, and after reading it we knew we had to talk about it on the show! We’ve also brought on a very special guest to discuss the series with us - Jocelyne Allen, translator of Our Dreams at Dusk and so many other amazing manga!
