Manga Mavericks @ Movies continues our coverage of TMS’s newly-dubbed releases of Detective Conan movies by going back to the beginning - literally! That’s right, we’re covering Detective Conan Episode “One” - the 20th-anniversary anime special remaking the show’s first episode! This special was the first Detective Conan movie released on home video in the US in nearly a decade, and the first chance most people got to experience the new dub cast TMS has assembled for the series! This is also actually the first podcast covering these new dubbed Detective Conan movies we did; we recorded this when the special came out last July, but didn’t get around to editing it until recently. But with Detective Conan’s 1000th episode right around the corner, now’s the perfect time to release this podcast and revisit this retelling! Joining us are none other than the curators of the Weekly Shogakukan Edition Twitter and blog, Sakaki and Jecka! Together we share our thoughts on the new dub, including our favorite new voices
