Growing up in Pakistan where the inequalities between women and men are visibly apparent, Khadija was surrounded by social norms in her youth but experienced the virulent influence it had in the justice system when her own equity was brought into question. On May 3rd,2016 Khadija was attacked and stabbed 23 times by fellow student, Shah Hussain, in a vengeful attempt to end her life after she had rejected his romantic advances months before. DACA, formally known as the Deferred Action for Childhood arrivals, is a program put in place by Barack Obama in 2014. Surviving One of the Deadliest School Massacres in the History of the World. Peshawar, Pakistan- With Waleed Khan
09/10/2019 Duration: 01h23minOn Dec 16, 2014 a terrible event occurred in Peshawar, Pakistan, which disturbed the country deeply. It's effects were felt across the world and it turned out to be the 4th largest school massacre in the history of the world. On this day a terrorist group of 7 men invaded an Army Public School of Peshawar and shot and killed 149 people. 134 of those lives lost were children between the ages of 8-18. 112 more people were injured. Waleed Khan is a survivor of the attack but did not get away unscathed, he suffered 6 bullet wounds to the face and 2 shots to the body. His doctors and family did not believe he would survive, but miraculously he did. He was 12 years old at the time. Waleed now is 17 years old, and today on this episode he shares his experience of that terrible day and what he had to deal with in the aftermath of it all.
