It appears that Eugene City Councilor Claire Syrett has been recalled by the voters of her ward over her support for the "Moving Ahead" program that would take lanes away from River Road for an EmX bus route. Dawn Lesley has spoken in support of Moving Ahead in the past and wants to represent Santa Clara on the County Commission. This is a pretty big thing as recalls are rarely successful. The voters are not happy about EmX on River Road. The Board will also be considering raising the Transient Room Tax paid by hotels and other lodging to support a multi-use stadium at the fairgrounds that would be home for the Eugene Ems baseball team.
