Society wants children who will become adults who believe their productivity is more important than their feelings. Me socializing my children to value their feelings at least as much as their productivity, if not more, isn't just about 'I want you to love yourself and be authentic!', it's also about'I want you to know when something is unfair. I want you to know when harm is happening.' If you're socialized to downplay your feelings, it's harder to know when harm is happening.That's part of what emergent strategy is inviting,
