If it is a benefit that the patient is aware of (and deliberately fabricating or creating in order to benefit) this is known as malingering.  Secondary gain is very difficult (especially for those using NLP) to identify but if you have some strong suspicions here are some strategies to help deal with it.  Watch on Youtube here:  https://youtu.be/JaGd9o1npi0 Missed the previous show?
